It\u2019s about a parent having to make that long walk up a short\u200d flight of stairs, like my dad did when I was 10 years old, and walk into the child\u2019s bedroom \u200cand\u200b say, \u2018Honey, \u200cI\u2019m sorry \u2014 I\u2019m\u200b sorry but Daddy\u200d lost \u200chis job\u2019 or \u2018Mommy lost her job.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Obama\u2019s speech does sound a bit like Biden\u2019s, although to be fair, \u200cthe element of self-respect being \u200ctied to your paycheck\u2063 is not a \u2063secret for alchemy.
