Funny memes were born this week when Mexican government officials \u2014\u00a0to the\u2062 extent that Mexico has those\u200d \u2014\u00a0claimed to discover<\/a> the fully intact remains of miniature humanoids of unearthly origin. It was ridiculous in that the figures were a mix between \u201cRipley\u2019s Believe It Or\u200b Not\u201d exhibits and Democrat Rep. Rosa DeLauro.<\/p>\n

But if Mexicans were \u2064mesmerized \u200bor even a little \u2063afraid of those trinkets, they really need to get a look at the social justice warriors<\/a> and woke activists just one\u200b drug traffic \u200cstop\u200c north<\/a>. That\u2019s\u200b where \u2064things get\u200b truly cosmic.<\/p>\n

At the end of August,\u200c activist and\u2063 self-proclaimed fatty Zyahna Bryant announced on social media<\/a> that \u2063personal hygiene company Dove had \u200bmade her \u200ba\u2062 brand \u201cambassador\u201d to promote \u200dits \u200b\u201csize\u200c freedom\u201d campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy belief is that we should be \u200ccentering the voices and experiences of \u200dthe most\u2064 marginalized people and communities at all times,\u201d she said in a post on Instagram for the partnership. \u201cSo, when I think about what fat liberation looks like to me, it looks \u200blike\u2062 centering the voices and the experiences of those who live \u200din and \u200dwho \u2063maneuver through spaces and institutions\u200b in a fat body.\u201d<\/p>\n

She\u2064 added that people \u201chave\u2062 different\u200b bodies and\u2062 that they are interacting with spaces and people and \u200dinstitutions and communities \u200din a \u2062different way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Toward the \u2064end of the segment, guest Malik Yoba tied himself in knots, attempting to use\u200b the newspeak for gender and sexual \u2062orientation. But\u200c then\u200c he\u200d used the phrase \u201cnaturally born women.\u201d<\/p>\n

And yet, these activists\u200b truly believe that they are fighting for justice and equality.<\/p>\nThe \u200cproblem with this type \u200dof language \u2064and\u200d activism\u200c is that it alienates\u200d the vast majority of \u200bpeople who simply want \u2062to treat others\u200d with respect and fairness. By creating intricate rules \u2063and guidelines \u2062for\u2062 how to speak and behave, they inadvertently create\u2064 a divide between \u2063themselves and \u200cthe rest of society.<\/p>\nWhat is particularly concerning about this brand of activism is that it\u2062 often targets innocent individuals who may unintentionally say or do something that is considered “offensive” by the ever-changing standards of\u2062 these activists. In \u200cthe\u2064 case of Zyahna Bryant, she ruined the reputation of a fellow student based \u200bon a comment that she later admitted she\u200c may have misheard. This type of witch hunt\u2064 is not only\u2064 unfair, but it\u200c also undermines the principles of justice and due process.<\/p>\nFurthermore, the obsession with labeling and categorizing people based on their physical attributes or\u200d identities is not only dehumanizing, but it also perpetuates the\u200b very stereotypes\u2062 and divisions that these activists claim\u2063 to be fighting against. Instead of focusing on the content of \u200bone’s character and \u2064their individual achievements, they reduce people to \u200bmere\u2063 categories and\u200c statistics.<\/p>\nIt is \u2064important to\u2064 recognize that everyone deserves respect and dignity, regardless of their physical appearance or identities. However, \u2064it is equally\u200d important to\u2063 reject the notion that we must constantly walk on eggshells\u2062 and be hyper-aware\u200d of the latest \u2063trends in activism\u2064 and\u2064 social justice.
