This comes even after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-republicans-accuse-biden-of-playing-political-game-over-border-crisis\/\" title=\"House Republicans Accuse Biden of Playing \u2018Political Game\u2019 Over Border Crisis\">federal judge temporarily blocked<\/a> the \u2063enforcement\u200b of the order.<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">Last week, Governor Lujan Grisham attempted to implement the firearms restriction through a public\u200c health emergency declaration, which\u2064 sparked\u200b a series\u2063 of lawsuits challenging its legality. However,\u200b U.S. District Court \u200bJudge David Urias, appointed by President Joe Biden, issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-mexico-governor-responds-after-federal-court-puts-her-30-day-gun-carry-ban-on-hold\/\" title=\"NM Governor responds to court's hold on 30-day gun carry ban.\">temporary restraining\u200d order blocking parts<\/a> \u200bof the governor&#8217;s \u200demergency order. These parts specifically \u2063prohibited\u200b individuals from carrying firearms in\u200d public in Albuquerque and Bernalillo \u200cCounty for self-defense.<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">In\u2063 response to \u200dthe court order, Governor Lujan Grisham stated, &#8220;Today a judge temporarily blocked sections of our public health order but recognized the significant problem \u2063of \u200dgun\u200d violence in this state, particularly involving the deaths of children. I refuse to be resigned to the status \u2063quo. Wisniewski, the general counsel\u2062 and vice president for\u200d the Firearms Policy Coalition \u2064(FPC), stated, &#8220;We\u2019re thrilled that the\u2062 Court has ruled in our favor and upheld the Second Amendment, the U.S.\u200d Constitution, and Supreme Court precedent.
