Instead of merely\u2063 selecting the \u2063most\u200b qualified\u200c candidates, these discriminatory hiring\u2064 practices <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalopportunity.org\/dei-teacher-hiring\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">evaluate<\/a> would-be teachers by their alignment with so-called \u201cdiversity, equity, and \u200dinclusion\u201d (DEI) goals.<\/p>\n<p>Documents obtained by NOP show public schools advertised\u2063 ideological requirements in their job\u200b postings with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-public-schools-pick-teachers-based-on-their-allegiance-to-cultural-marxism\/\" title=\"Report: Public schools select teachers based on their adherence to Cultural Marxism.\">coded language seeking \u201cequity-literate\u2063 educator[<\/a>s]\u201d who\u200c will work at \u201cdismantling systemic racism\u201d with a \u201ccommitment to social justice.\u201d Denver Public Schools dictated that applicants should \u201chave an anti-racist mindset and will\u200d work to dismantle systems of oppression and\u2063 inequity in\u200b our community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These standards invite educators of a particular ideological\u200d affiliation to pursue jobs in \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/scotus-expected-to-follow-up-race-based-admissions-decision-with-new-case-on-huge-issue-at-high-schools\/\" title=\"SCOTUS to tackle major high school issue after race-based admissions ruling.\">public\u200c schools<\/a> while deterring other candidates. \u201cThey position \u2062teachers as soldiers\u2064 who share\u2063 responsibility for upending societal barriers,\u201d the\u200b report noted. \u201cTheir message to applicants is \u2062clear: <em>Be prepared to join our crusade, or \u200bdon\u2019t apply<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kristen\u200c Williamson, communications \u200bdirector at\u2064 the National Opportunity Project, told The Federalist schools are \u201cpossibly breaking the \u200blaw\u201d by ideologically \u200dfiltering potential teachers.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200d vetting continues in the interview process, in which candidates may be \u2064asked \u201cloaded\u2063 and presumptive\u201d questions. Some of\u2064 the questions NOP uncovered asked applicants how they would lead conversations about race in the classroom \u200cand incorporate unscientific \u200bfads like \u2064\u201cgender diversity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPerspectives that \u2063diverge from\u2063 or fail to mesh with\u200d the district\u2019s views on equity\u201d are \u201cjudged\u200b poorly,\u201d NOP concluded.<\/p>\n<p>According \u2064to \u200ca Fairfax County Public\u200d Schools screening rubric, an \u201coutstanding candidate\u201d \u200dis \u200dsomeone who \u201cprovides \u2062concrete examples of strategies \u2063of\u200d their \u200dcommitment to serve to \u200dpromote diversity, equity, and inclusion,\u201d and \u2064understands\u200c \u201ctheir role in breaking down \u2064barriers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One prompt from City Schools of Decatur \u200bin Georgia asks how applicants would shut down parents\u200b who\u200d object to their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-media-is-wrong-teachers-unions-politicized-schools-not-parents\/\" title=\"The Media Is Wrong - Teachers Unions Politicized Schools, Not Parents\">racially divisive curricula<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>An upset \u2064parent emails you regarding a classroom discussion with your students about Critical Race \u2063Theory.\u2063 They accuse you\u200d (the teacher) of \u200banti-Americanism, changing \u2018real history,\u2019 and \u200cof making White children feel \u200cmarginalized and attacked. Please discuss your \u2064course\u2062 of \u2064action and draft a response to \u2062this parent.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The \u2063hiring team then must\u200b ensure \u201cthat\u2063 there is at \u2062least one\u200b person of color and one woman or \u200cgender-fluid person\u201d involved in scoring the response.\u200c NOP uncovered several other identity quotes for hiring panels \u200band committees like this one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe effect of these policies is that teachers in many of the \u2062country\u2019s K-12 schools are \u200dselected partly based on subjective, quasi-political, and sometimes illegal criteria that have\u2063 nothing to do \u2062with reading, writing, and\u2064 math,\u201d Williamson said, noting that these teachers are \u201chandpicked based at least\u200c in part \u200con their acceptance and evangelism \u2062of one side\u2019s political \u200band social orthodoxy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes applicants aren\u2019t just filtered by\u200d their beliefs, but by their physical characteristics. \u200cHinsdale Township \u200bHigh School \u2064District \u200b86 \u2062in Illinois insists that employees reflect the student\u2064 body in terms of \u201crace, cultural\u200d background, linguistic skill,\u2062 physical abilities, and disabilities, sex, and sexual identity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParents and taxpayers must hold school\u2062 districts accountable \u2063regarding teacher hiring standards,\u201d Williamson said. \u200b\u201cUltimately, these same teachers\u2062 are recruited to be partisan political activists\u200b for \u2064teachers unions, forcing policies they\u2063 teach in \u200dthe classroom on the rest\u2063 of\u2063 the country\u2062 through \u200bstrikes, lobbying, and electioneering.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A survey by the National Opportunity Project (NOP) reveals that public schools nationwide are employing biased questions to assess potential teachers&#8217; political leanings.
