It isn\u2019t hard to see why. The federal government is limiting prosperity by refusing to uphold \u200dits basic\u200c constitutional\u200d duties to secure Americans and is constantly meddling in our lives.<\/p>\n<p>Our Constitution provides\u2062 a framework for \u2062a federal government that will \u201csecure the\u2062 Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and\u2063 our Posterity,\u201d \u200cyet\u2062 it is not doing so.\u2064 Our southern border\u2062 is run by cartels, and \u200cthe human\u200b crisis is causing death and destruction from\u200d Texas to New York. Rather than carrying \u200dout a war against fentanyl, human trafficking, and organized crime, the Department of Justice (DOJ)\u200b is targeting American \u200dcitizens who \u2062dare\u2064 oppose it. The Department of Defense (DOD)\u200b focuses\u200c less on \u2064warfighting capability \u2063and more on divisive ideology. As \u200bCovid tyranny \u2063ramps up again, reckless\u2062 spending is sabotaging economic stability \u200dwhile fantasy energy policies\u200b destroy the\u2063 American dream.<\/p>\n<p>The status quo is unacceptable, and House \u200dRepublicans are constitutionally \u200cempowered and duty-bound to demand change. The \u2064\u201cpower of the purse\u201d is the\u2064 most effective\u2064 tool \u200dwe\u200d possess\u200b to force an\u200c out-of-control executive branch to end its\u200d abuses and focus \u200donly on its core functions. Thus, when federal funding expires on Sept. 30, we must \u200cstand\u200b in unison and declare, \u201cNo security, no funding.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1163718578\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b152f7d3a8acd5683022dcda2ff9f938 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b152f7d3a8acd5683022dcda2ff9f938\"><\/div>\n<p>The best way to\u2062 address those problems is by both cutting funding for the federal\u2063 bureaucracy and passing limits \u2062on how that funding may be used. But the\u200b swamp machine wants to spend and\u200d regulate more \u2014 as evidenced \u2063by the so-called \u201cdebt deal\u201d \u200cjammed\u200c through \u2062after Memorial Day, since which\u2064 we\u2019ve added nearly $1.5 trillion in debt. That deal also ensured we will not \u200cpass 12 responsible full-year appropriations bills \u200din time; thus, we\u200d will be asked to support a \u201cshort-term\u201d funding measure known as a continuing resolution (CR)\u200c at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mcconnell-offers-short-term-debt-ceiling-extension-in-bid-to-stave-off-default\/\" title=\"McConnell Offers Short-Term Debt Ceiling Extension In Bid To Stave Off Default\">current spending levels<\/a> to \u201cbuy time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To be \u200dclear, \u200ca vote for such a CR is a vote \u2062for the \u2062status quo \u2014\u2063 i.e.,\u200d a \u201ccontinuation\u201d of\u200d bloated \u200dpost-Covid spending levels \u2063and anti-security policies contained in last year\u2019s $1.7 trillion \u201comnibus\u201d spending bill, which was negotiated\u200d and passed in\u200d a Democrat trifecta \u2014\u2062 inexplicably with the help of 18 Senate Republicans. That\u2019s why my House\u2064 Freedom Caucus colleagues and \u200dI <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/freedomcaucus\/status\/1693624211695079521\/photo\/2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pledged<\/a> to oppose\u2064 such a CR \u200cunless it makes actual \u2064strides to reverse \u2063course and promote American\u200d security \u2014 \u2064notably, by at least addressing border security, undoing the\u200c weaponization of the DOJ, and refocusing the DOD on securing America.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dereliction \u200bof Duty<\/h2>\n<p>First, the devastation caused by \u200cPresident\u200c Joe Biden and \u2063Secretary of Homeland \u2063Security Alejandro Mayorkas\u2019 willful \u2062dereliction of their duty to secure the border \u200ccannot go\u2063 unchecked any longer. Fentanyl \u2064is pouring across our \u200dborder\u200c and killing 200 Americans every single day, children are being sold into\u200c the sex-trafficking trade, criminal cartels control our borders, hundreds of\u200c migrants are dying, and communities \u200cacross \u2064the country \u2014 already struggling from rampant crime and inflation \u2014 \u2064are overrun and begging \u2063for help.<\/p>\n<p>In May, the House\u200c passed the Secure \u2063the Border Act of 2023 (H.R. 2) \u2014 the strongest border\u2063 security\u2063 measure ever to pass a body of Congress \u2014 but\u200d Senate\u2062 Majority Leader Chuck\u2062 Schumer, D-N.Y., has ignored the pleas of Americans \u200cand refuses to \u200btake it up in the Senate. This\u200b bill would force\u200b Biden and \u200dMayorkas to carry out current law by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-admin-considers-restarting-border-wall-construction-to-plug-gaps-amid-bidens-border-crisis-report\/\" title=\"Biden Admin Considers Restarting Border Wall Construction To \u2018Plug Gaps\u2019 Amid Biden\u2019s Border Crisis: Report\">restarting border wall construction<\/a>, stopping the mass release of migrants into the interior of the \u200cU.S., directing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to turn away migrants that cannot be detained, \u200dand reforming oft-abused asylum loopholes,\u200c among many other important reforms.<\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 10,\u2064 a group\u2062 of 15 \u2062Texans <a href=\"https:\/\/roy.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/texas-republicans-biden-no-border-security-no-funding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sent a\u2064 letter<\/a> to our House colleagues demanding that DHS not be funded until H.R. 2 is enacted, policies\u200d to\u200b combat criminal cartels are signed\u200c into law, \u2063Texas is repaid the\u2062 $10 billion \u2064it has spent \u200bon \u2062border security,\u200d and Mayorkas \u200cis removed from office\u200b for\u200b his dereliction of duty. \u2064Again:\u200b no security, no \u200dfunding.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Political Prosecutions<\/h2>\n<p>Second, Americans are watching in disgust as the DOJ has\u200c rejected\u200c its constitutional duty to \u201cestablish Justice, [and] insure domestic Tranquility,\u201d electing instead to pursue a political definition of justice \u2063while allowing \u200cviolent crime to \u2063take over our\u2064 streets. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-845c213e7b42d27b4b83ab15a01b7009 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-845c213e7b42d27b4b83ab15a01b7009\"><\/div>\n<p>The most\u200c prominent example is the blatantly\u2064 political prosecution of former President Donald Trump, contrasted with reports that the DOJ\u200b is\u2062 bending over backward to protect Hunter Biden \u2014\u2064 and likely his father \u2014\u2062 from facing justice. But we also must stop targeting\u200d everyday \u200dAmericans like Scott Smith,\u200d who was labeled a domestic terrorist for defending his daughter at a \u2062<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/maryland-school-district-announces-policy-to-push-anti-racist-thinking-in-preschool-redefine-discrimination-and-racism\/\" title=\"Maryland School District Announces Policy to Push \u2018Anti-Racist Thinking\u2019 In Preschool, Redefine \u2018Discrimination\u2019 and \u2018Racism\u2019\">school board meeting<\/a>, and Mark \u200cHouck, whom the FBI\u200c arrested and intimidated in \u2064front of his family \u2063for \u200bbeing pro-life.<\/p>\n<p>Any\u2064 funding of this radical DOJ must address\u2064 its ability to conduct investigations meant to jail political opponents, label everyday parents as \u201cdomestic terrorists,\u201d target Americans for their sincerely held beliefs, and police free speech\u200c on \u2064social media\u2064 and elsewhere. We also must not fund the\u200d FBI\u2019s\u2064 new multibillion-dollar headquarters; enforcement of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives\u2019\u2062 (ATF) \u200c\u201cpistol-brace\u201d rule \u2063that turned owners \u200cof\u200d some 40 million pistol braces\u200d into felons\u200b overnight; or ATF\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-admins-proposed-rule-combat-gun-violence-require-firearms-dealers-conduct-background-checks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new proposal<\/a> to circumvent Congress\u200d and massively expand \u2063background checks for gun purchases.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Defending Our\u200c Nation<\/h2>\n<p>Third, we must use funding to focus DOD \u200don its constitutional duty to \u201cprovide for the common defense.\u201d DOD brass currently \u2064pushes divisive \u201cdiversity\u201d policies, radical \u2063gender\u2062 ideology, and destructive Covid policies, each of which hinders our ability to recruit and retain \u2062personnel. We can stop this. A united Republican House \u2062\u2014 through \u2062a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-federal-spending-fight-house-republicans-have-only-one-acceptable-tack-no-security-no-funding\/\" title=\"House Republicans in the Federal Spending Fight: No Security, No Funding\">robust\u2064 amendment \u2063process \u2063\u2014 \u2064made massive strides<\/a> \u2062in the defense authorization\u2062 bill to end \u201cdiversity, equity, and inclusion\u201d offices and trainings, stop taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries, end DOD climate hysteria, and repeal the DOD\u2019s abortion travel fund. However, \u2064because the Senate \u200dwill \u200dnot take up those changes, we \u200cmust use DOD funding \u2064to ensure national security by \u200dforcing these reforms into law.<\/p>\n<p>To be sure, \u200bthe \u201cno security, no funding\u201d fight does not stop here. For example, leftist \u2062politicians and the media are \u2063dusting off the 2020 playbook by\u200c ramping up Covid scare tactics to push\u2064 mask and vaccine\u2062 mandates and lockdowns. Any government funding measure should prohibit funding from flowing to federal agencies\u200c and states,\u200c counties, or cities carrying out this Covid tyranny. Further, \u200cwe should \u201cpromote the general Welfare\u201d by curbing the inflation brought \u200don by spending trillions in money \u2064we don\u2019t have and ending the inflationary energy regulations and subsidies that\u200d serve the anti-human climate cult while enriching the elites.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2d4d32b57023da3e882d28947da6de44 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2d4d32b57023da3e882d28947da6de44\"><\/div>\n<p>There will be some who cower at \u2064this notion \u2014 claiming we will be \u201cblamed\u201d for \u200bshutting down \u2064the government.\u200b But what we should\u200b truly fear is refusing to fight\u200c to uphold \u2062the Constitution, do \u2063what\u200d we said we would do,\u2064 and stand \u200bup\u2064 for American security. Indeed,\u2062 in Federalist No. 58, James Madison wrote, \u201c[The] power\u2064 over the purse \u200cmay, in fact, be regarded as\u200d the most complete\u2062 and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate\u200d representatives\u200c of the people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We must stand together in \u2063steadfast rejection of President Biden\u2019s destructive status quo \u2064and refuse to give ground when\u200b the\u2064 swamp comes \u200dcrashing \u2064down on us. To \u2064do \u200bthat, we\u2063 must paint a bold vision and stand in unison, saying, \u201cNo security,\u200d no funding.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7422a5fee2065d256b32c4b8a08bbc48 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7422a5fee2065d256b32c4b8a08bbc48\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A recent poll revealed that 74% of Americans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction.
