(Drew Angerer\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h2>Correction Issued<\/h2>\n<p>    \u200b After initially publishing \u2062the excerpt, Mr. Isaacson \u200bmade a correction, stating that he misunderstood the incident when discussing it with Mr. \u200bMusk.\n  <\/p><\/div>\n<p>Instead of claiming that the Starlink mogul had &#8220;secretly told\u2064 his engineers to turn off coverage&#8221; around Crimea, Mr. Isaacson retracted \u200cthat statement in\u2063 an updated version of the\u200c biography excerpt and \u2064supported Mr. Musk&#8217;s \u2062account of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What the Ukrainians \u200cdid not \u200dknow was \u200bthat Musk decided not \u2064to enable Starlink coverage of the \u200dCrimean coast,&#8221; Mr. Isaacson wrote in \u2062the updated biography\u200d excerpt.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When the Ukrainian military learned \u2062that Starlink would not\u200b support a \u200csuccessful attack, Musk received \u2062frantic calls\u2064 and \u200btexts asking him to enable the coverage. Musk responded that the design of the drones was impressive, but he refused to turn on the coverage for Crimea, arguing that Ukraine &#8216;is now going too far \u2064and inviting strategic \u2063defeat.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>In both the original version and the update, Mr. Isaacson\u200c mentioned Mr. Musk&#8217;s concerns that a Ukrainian attack on the Russian Black Sea Fleet could\u200c trigger a major, potentially nuclear, response from \u2062Russia.<\/p>\n<p>The biographer also noted\u2064 that\u200b Mr.\u2062 Musk had informed White House national security advisor Jake Sullivan and \u2063Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. As of the publication of this article, the senator&#8217;s office has not responded.<br \/>\n \u2063<\/p>\n<h2>Other Musk Ventures Under Scrutiny<\/h2>\n<p>    \u200d  \u200d \u2064 This is not the first time\u2064 Ms. Warren has criticized\u2063 Mr. Musk&#8217;s business \u2064practices.\n  <\/p><\/div>\n<p>In December, shortly after Mr. Musk acquired Twitter, Ms. Warren wrote to Tesla&#8217;s board of directors, expressing concerns that his ownership\u200c of the social media platform \u2062was diverting his attention from his responsibilities as the CEO of the electric\u200c vehicle company.<\/p>\n<p>She specifically questioned how\u200c the \u2064Tesla board was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bipartisan-bill-seeks-to-crack-down-on-big-banks-presence-of-federal-reserve-board\/\" title=\"New bill aims to limit big banks' influence on Federal Reserve Board.\">addressing potential conflicts<\/a>\u2062 of interest, \u200ballegations of Mr. Musk misusing Tesla&#8217;s corporate assets, and &#8220;other\u200d actions by Mr. Musk that do not appear\u2064 to be in the best interests of Tesla and its \u200dshareholders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\" style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:640px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Tesla Inc. \u2063CEO Elon Musk\u200d walks next to a screen showing\u2064 an image of Tesla Model 3 car \u200dduring\u200b an opening ceremony for Tesla \u200dChina-made Model Y program in Shanghai on Jan. 7, \u20632020.
