However, she is not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/candy-or-cannabis-new-study-warns-of-edibles-in-copycat-packaging\/\" title=\"Candy Or Cannabis? New Study Warns Of Edibles In \u2018Copycat Packaging\u2019\">pursuing legal action<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The family is advocating\u200d for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/97-8-of-mass-shootings-are-in-gun-free-zones\/\" title=\"97.8% of Mass Shootings Are in Gun Free Zones\">black box warning<\/a> from the FDA, which would alert \u200dusers to the risk of suicide associated with Ozempic. Black box\u2064 warnings\u200d are reserved for serious safety concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Carolyn Hasty, Mr. Anthony&#8217;s fianc\u00e9,\u200b expressed her thoughts\u200c on\u200c the matter, \u2062saying, &#8220;I&#8217;m not trying to say that I believe this medicine is a bad medicine overall.\u200b I think \u200dthat it probably offers a lot of benefits to a lot of people. But I believe that there\u2064 is a subpopulation out there, a portion\u200d of this population that \u200bthey&#8217;re giving it to, that has \u200cto be more highly monitored and decide whether or not it&#8217;s\u200b a good drug for them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Wegovy, a\u200c drug similar to\u2063 Ozempic but marketed\u200b under a different name, already carries\u200b a\u200c warning about suicidal thoughts. However, \u2064unlike Ozempic, Wegovy is approved for weight loss rather \u2064than \u200cType 2 \u2064diabetes. The \u200dFDA mandates weight loss medications to include such a warning.<\/p>\n<p>Although \u200bOzempic is used for weight \u2064loss, \u2063it is\u2062 only FDA-approved for treating\u200b Type 2 diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>The official Ozempic website cautions users about\u2063 &#8220;serious side effects,&#8221; including pancreas\u2064 inflammation, low blood\u200b sugar, vision changes,\u2062 severe allergic \u200creactions, kidney\u2063 problems, and gallbladder issues.<\/p>\n<p>It advises users to inform \u2063their healthcare provider if they experience neck lumps or swelling, difficulty\u200c swallowing, or shortness of\u2062 breath, as these may be \u2063symptoms of\u200d thyroid cancer.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with The New York Times, \u200bDr. Andrew\u2062 Kraftson warned that some individuals taking Ozempic may \u200cexperience a\u2062 severe lack of appetite, leading to malnutrition if not closely monitored\u2064 by their doctors.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>People \u2064on Ozempic lose weight by consuming fewer\u200c calories, explained Dr. Kraftson. However, \u200cif they do not\u200c receive proper nutrition through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/congressman-reveals-cause-of-death-of-teenage-daughter\/\" title=\"Congressman Reveals Cause of Death of Teenage Daughter\">regular check-ups<\/a>, Ozempic \u200buse can contribute to or worsen eating disorders.<\/p>\n<h2>Ozempic \u200bWeight Loss, Reaction<\/h2>\n<p>Both Ozempic and Wegovy contain the same <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/health\/popular-drug-being-used-for-weight-loss-can-cause-serious-side-effects-health-canada-5359176\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">active<\/a> ingredient\u2014semaglutide.\u200c A study \u2063published in\u2064 The New\u2064 England Journal of Medicine found that Ozempic \u2063can\u200d lead to weight loss.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The study concluded that a \u2063weekly dose of 2.4 mg of semaglutide, \u2062combined with lifestyle changes, resulted in significant and sustained weight reduction among \u2063overweight and obese participants.<\/p>\n<p>However, negative \u200ceffects of this weight loss \u2064have also been identified. Health Canada\u2064 issued\u2062 a warning in June that\u2063 using Ozempic for weight loss is not\u2062 an approved indication.<\/p>\n<p>Using Ozempic for weight loss\u2064 can cause serious\u2063 side effects, including pancreatitis, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/family-blames-popular-weight-loss-drug-for-mans-suicide-seeks-black-box-warning\/\" title=\"Family blames weight loss drug for man's suicide, seeks black box warning.\">dangerously\u2064 low blood\u200b sugar levels<\/a>, gallbladder \u200dissues, \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fda-approves-pfizer-covid-19-vaccine-for-adolescents-ages-12-15\/\" title=\"FDA Approves Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine For Adolescents Ages 12-15\">severe allergic reactions<\/a>, thyroid tumors, and kidney problems, including\u200b kidney failure.<\/p>\n<p>In July, the European Medicines Agency announced a review \u200dof 150 cases involving suicidal thoughts and self-injury among individuals who had taken GLP-1 receptor agonists, the drug class to which Wegovy and Ozempic belong.<\/p>\n<p>The U.K.&#8217;s\u2064 Medicines\u200b and Healthcare Products Regulatory\u2062 Agency (MHRA) is also reviewing the safety of this drug class.<\/p>\n<p>As of June 30, the FDA \u2063Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) has \u2063received reports of 59 cases of suicidal ideation, six attempted suicides, and four\u200b suicides related to Ozempic.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\">\n<figure style=\"width:600px\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>This \u2062combination of\u200c file photos made\u200d in 2016 \u200cshows (from L) \u200bobese people in Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Manchester.
