(Photo by Drew Angerer\/Getty \u2062Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>OAN\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/tag\/brooke-mallory\">Brooke Mallory<\/a><\/h2>\n<h3>6:05\u2064 PM \u2013 Wednesday, September 13, 2023<\/h3>\n<p>Following her 2021 sentence on drug \u2062trafficking charges, \u2064the wife of jailed former Sinaloa cartel boss Joaquin \u201cEl\u200c Chapo\u201d Guzman is\u200b reportedly \u2064scheduled\u2063 to be\u200c freed in California on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Emma Coronel Aispuro, 34, will exit a low-security prison in Los Angeles, \u2062according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, although she will stay under 48 months of supervised release, Reuters reported.<\/p>\n<p>On February 12<sup>th<\/sup>, 2019, Guzman was\u200c found guilty in \u2064New York of orchestrating a large-scale smuggling enterprise. <\/p>\n<p>In July of that year, Guzman received a life sentence and is still being detained\u200b at ADX Florence in Colorado,\u2064 also known as\u200d the Rockies\u2019 Alcatraz.<\/p>\n<p>Coronel, the 34-year-old former beauty queen, entered a guilty plea to three charges \u200bof conspiring to distribute unlawfully imported cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine,\u2063 and marijuana, to launder narcotics money from the \u200bcartel, and for her role in\u200b working with the cartel years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Court papers stated that the infamous wife was\u2064 helping her \u2063husband\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cartel-style-execution-kills-6-including-baby-in-california\/\" title=\"\u2018Cartel-Style Execution\u2019 Kills 6, Including Baby, In California\">drug trafficking efforts<\/a> while he was being imprisoned.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe defendant\u2019s\u2063 actual role was a minimal one,\u201d prosecutor Anthony Nardozzi said in 2021. \u201cThe\u2062 defendant acted\u2062 primarily in support\u2064 of her husband. The defendant acted upon his\u2064 orders, which,\u200c in turn, furthered the interests of the criminal cartel. The defendant was not an \u200dorganizer, leader, \u200dboss, or other \u200dtype of \u200cmanager. Rather,\u2064 she was a cog in a very\u200c large wheel of a criminal organization.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, since she had \u200bno \u200bprevious charges\u200d on\u200c her record, she was able to avoid the minimum 10-year\u200c prison sentence for the crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Coronel holds dual citizenship in Mexico and \u2063the \u200cUnited States.<\/p>\n<p>She got married to \u2062the cartel boss in 2017 when she was just 18 years old and the couple also shares two\u2064 identical twin girls. <\/p>\n<p>Under \u200dGuzman\u2019s leadership, the\u2064 Sinaloa cartel, one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/el-chapos-wife-is-released-from-prison-in-ca\/\" title=\"El Chapo's wife freed from CA prison.\">biggest drug-trafficking groups<\/a> in the world, committed a plethora of murders while\u2064 smuggling \u2064mountains of cocaine and other narcotics into the United States over a 25-year period, according to prior court documents from the prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
