The \u200csolution \u200bfor these deficiencies lies with the\u200b legislature, not \u200cthe\u2064 executive or judicial branches,&#8221; Hanen wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This is not the first time \u2064that \u2062DACA and Hanen \u200chave crossed paths. In 2021, Hanen, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, ruled that\u2063 the\u2064 program violated the federal Administrative Procedures Act, as reported by the Associated \u2064Press.<\/p>\n<p>Following that ruling, the Biden administration \u2063attempted to make\u2063 adjustments to\u200b the program, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/obama-dreamers-program-declared-illegal-by-federal-judge\/\" title=\"Federal judge declares Obama's 'Dreamers' program illegal.\">multiple states\u200d filed lawsuits<\/a>, leading to the recent ruling.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The Court, as it did before, hereby stays the effective date of the vacatur as \u2063to all \u200cDACA recipients who \u200creceived their\u200b initial\u200b DACA status prior to\u200d July 16, 2021. \u200dThe defendants may continue to administer the program\u200c as to those individuals, and that\u2063 administration may\u2062 include processing \u200band granting DACA renewal applications for those\u2062 individuals,&#8221; Hanen wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It is expected that there will be an appeal to the ruling, and \u200cthe case\u2062 may\u200d eventually reach the Supreme \u2062Court.<\/p>\n<p>As noted by AP, the DACA program has a \u200ccomplex court\u200b history.
