They then posted thousands of emails, photos, videos, \u200band recordings online.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden \u200bpreviously demanded that Mr. Ziegler and others stop \u2063publishing \u2062the data and\u2063 return what belongs to him, but\u200d they have\u200b refused to do so.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint acknowledges that\u2064 the exact method\u200d used to obtain Hunter Biden&#8217;s\u200b data is unclear,\u200d but it states that the defendants \u200caccessed,\u200b tampered \u2062with, manipulated, altered, copied, and damaged his data without his consent.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>Mr. Ziegler \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/hunter-biden-sues-former-trump-aide-garrett-ziegler-illegal-data-hacking-2023-9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told Business Insider<\/a> that the lawsuit is &#8220;not worth the paper it&#8217;s printed on&#8221; and\u2062 denied \u2063any hacking, claiming they accessed Hunter\u2064 Biden&#8217;s iPhone backup through a code found on the laptop.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Everything was\u200d contained on the laptop,&#8221; \u2064Mr.\u2063 Ziegler told the\u2064 outlet.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>Mr. Ziegler told Business Insider that \u200che obtained the data from former Trump attorney\u200c Rudy Giuliani, who received it from the owner of the laptop show.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote><\/div>\n<h2>The Laptop<\/h2>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>John Paul\u200d Mac Isaac, the owner of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-truth-about-hunter-bidens-laptop\/\" title=\"The Truth About Hunter Biden\u2019s Laptop\">computer repair shop<\/a> in Delaware, stated that Hunter Biden dropped off a \u2064laptop at his store on April 12, 2019.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Mr. \u200cMac Isaac presented <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23856887-hunter-biden-invoice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an invoice<\/a> that\u200b listed Hunter \u2063Biden as the \u2064person to\u2062 bill, \u2062along with an iCloud ID.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>He eventually handed the laptop over to the \u200dFBI \u200cbut\u2062 kept a \u200dcopy of the drive. He later passed the contents to Rudy\u2063 Giuliani, who gave it to the New York Post.<\/p>\n<p>The Post \u200dbroke\u200b the\u200d story \u200don October\u200d 14, 2020, just\u200c weeks \u2063before the presidential election. However, the \u200carticle was suppressed \u200cby companies like Twitter, claiming it was based on hacked materials.<\/p>\n<p>Efforts were\u2064 made to discredit the Hunter Biden laptop story, including a letter\u200c from former intelligence community\u2062 members suggesting it\u2064 was a \u2063Russian disinformation campaign.\u2062 However, subsequent reporting \u200dconfirmed the authenticity of the laptop and disproved the disinformation claims.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>Congressional testimony cited by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) shows that former CIA deputy director Michael Morell organized\u2064 the letter at the urging of Secretary of \u200cState \u200bAntony Blinken, who was advising President Biden&#8217;s campaign at the time.
