Race riots have gotten a makeover, they\u2019re now \u2063known as BLM protests. Goth\u2064 kids, \u200ccross-dressers, and other miscellaneous groups now have \u2064all\u200d found new labels for themselves under \u2064the umbrella of \u201cgender identity.\u201d Anti-white and anti-Asian racism, especially when enforced\u200c by the government, now goes by \u2062the name \u2064of \u201cequity.\u201d And, in\u2063 maybe the \u200bfarthest-reaching rebrand \u200d\u2014 the one that really goes back thousands of years \u2014 the modern \u200dLeft has even managed to redefine \u2063the term \u201cprostitution.\u201d Now, instead of calling prostitutes prostitutes, we\u2019re supposed to call them \u201csex workers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The idea \u2064is to rebrand \u2063prostitution as something other than morally depraved, reprehensible conduct that no civilized society should ever tolerate, much less embrace. And as you might \u2063expect, many media outlets, including the New York Times, \u200bare on\u2064 board with\u200c this change in\u2064 terminology. The \u2063paper of record\u200c recently ran a whole\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/10\/17\/opinion\/decriminalize-sex-work-new-york.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">op-ed<\/a> about the importance of \u201cmeeting the needs of sex workers.\u201d\u200b According to the piece, we \u200cneed to\u2062 end \u2063\u201cthe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dem-candidate-claims-its-a-sex-crime-to-talk-about-the-fact-that-shes-a-porn-star\/\" title=\"Democrat candidate deems discussing her profession as a porn star a 'sex crime'.\">social stigma\u201d surrounding sex work<\/a>. CBS News, for its part,\u200c has run several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/south-africa-legalize-sex-work-prostitution-to-tackle-crime-against-women-hiv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sympathetic stories<\/a> about \u200cpolicies that can \u201clegitimize the industry\u201d of sex \u200cwork.<\/p>\n<p>Given all\u200c that, it\u2019s with great interest that I checked out the websites of both The New York Times and CBS News \u200dlast night to see how they were \u2064covering the story\u200c of a Virginia state \u200dhouse candidate named Susanna \u200bGibson. Gibson, as you may have heard, was just outed \u200cas a\u200d cyber prostitute. She live-streamed videos \u200bon a porn website \u200cof\u200b herself engaging\u2063 in various sex acts with her husband in exchange for money from strangers. She\u2062 even offered to urinate for viewers if they\u200c paid up. To be\u200b clear, Gibson\u2019s husband was aware all \u2064of this was happening. In fact, he solicited donations \u200dhimself at various points.\u2064 And these were not private videos. They were not \u200bpassword protected, anyone could access them. And without going into too much detail, people could obtain even more salacious\u2063 footage \u200dif they threw money at Gibson, in the form of \u201ctokens.\u201d Gibson \u2062assured her audience \u2064that \u2063the money was going to a\u2064 \u201cgood cause\u201d \u2014 perhaps her political\u2064 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Now, if \u200dthe New York Times and CBS News truly meant what they\u2019ve been saying all these\u2063 years about \u200cthe legitimacy of sex work, you\u2019d \u200cthink \u2062this would be the easiest imaginable story to\u200d cover. Here you \u200chave a strong independent woman, engaging in consensual acts of prostitution with a willing partner. What\u2064 could \u200dbe more liberating\u200c than that? Truly \u2062this is what \u200cdecades of feminism have been\u200d leading to, all along. This is the ultimate feminist success story. A\u200d \u201csex worker\u201d\u200d becomes a politician \u2014 going from one \u200dform of prostitution to another.\u200d It\u2019s\u200c the new \u200bAmerican\u200d dream.<\/p>\n<h3>Except, strangely enough, that\u2019s not how\u200d these outlets covered this\u2063 story.<\/h3>\n<p>Instead of defending Susanna Gibson\u2019s conduct, both \u200cthe New York Times and CBS News lied\u200c about it. \u200dAnd these were not subtle lies. They were as obvious and lazy as \u2063they could possibly be. The\u200c Times decided to ignore the facts of this whole situation, and instead <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/09\/11\/us\/politics\/susanna-gibson-virginia.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that \u2062Gibson\u2019s videos had somehow leaked. This was their headline: \u200c\u201cState House\u200d Candidate in Virginia Condemns Leak of\u2063 Sex Tapes.\u201d What they\u2019re doing is hiding the fact that Gibson uploaded \u2064the footage herself. They\u2019re implying that someone else \u2062leaked these videos, \u200cwhich they know is \u200dnot what happened. \u200dFor \u200dits part, CBS News ran \u200bthis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/susanna-gibson-candidate-responds-leak-tapes-sex-acts-husband-live-videos\/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab7e&#038;linkId=234641763\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">headline<\/a>: \u201cVirginia election\u2064 candidate responds after leak of \u2063tapes showing her performing sex acts with husband.\u201d Below that headline, CBS News copy-pasted \u200dan accurate \u200dAssociated Press article\u200d describing what happened.\u200b So, CBS News\u2019 only contribution to\u2064 the \u200bstory was \u200cadding\u2063 an obviously false headline to mislead as many people as possible.<\/p>\n<p>This is all more than a\u2062 little \u2062strange. Here you \u200bhave a perfect opportunity for both of these outlets\u2063 \u2014 the New York Times and CBS News \u2014 to report honestly on the sex work that Susanna \u200dGibson was engaging in. That shouldn\u2019t be \u2062a big deal because, as these organizations have \u200destablished, \u200bsex work is as noble as any other form of work. But instead of doing\u2062 that, they\u2019re lying about basic facts of the \u2063story. They\u2019re pretending that Gibson wasn\u2019t selling pornographic videos \u2063for money. Instead, they\u2019re pushing the lie that she was hacked\u2062 and her private videos somehow found their way on the internet. When in fact they found\u2063 their way onto the internet because Gibson\u2062 put them there on purpose. In case you\u2019re keeping track, these are the same outlets that went wall-to-wall\u2062 on Donald Trump\u2019s so<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/blue-state-blues-the-worst-prosecutor-in-america-is-running-for-new-york-attorney-general\/\" title=\"Blue State Blues: The Worst Prosecutor in America Is Running for New York Attorney General\">-called \u201cpee tape<\/a>,\u201d which didn\u2019t exist. Now they\u2019re telling\u200b you that you\u2019re\u2064 not allowed to discuss a Democratic\u2063 Party candidate\u2019s actual pee tape, which she uploaded on the\u2064 internet. Brazen\u2062 does not begin to describe\u200b this.<\/p>\n<p>But it gets even more brazen. Susanna Gibson herself went even further\u2064 than\u2063 these outlets. She claimed to be the victim of a \u201csex crime\u201d. Watch:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s think about this for a second.\u200c Susanna Gibson voluntarily\u2063 uploads footage of \u2063herself having sex with her husband, with her husband\u2019s consent, to a\u200c porn website. She and her husband both solicit money from anonymous viewers\u200b on this website, and \u2063in return, they promise\u200d to engage in even more sex acts.\u2063 None\u2063 of this \u2063is occurring on some private channel. Anyone with\u2063 a working internet connection\u200c can see it. Some of these sex\u2062 acts, by the way,\u2063 were \u2062broadcast after Gibson announced her run\u200d for office in Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Gibson\u2064 tells us, it\u2019s a \u201csex crime\u201d \u2062to share this footage. It violates Virginia\u2019s revenge porn laws. If that\u2019s true, \u200bironically \u200cenough, it would \u200cmean that\u2064 Susanna Gibson and her \u2064husband are guilty of sex crimes because they\u2019re the ones who shared the footage. So it\u2019s not just a facile argument that we\u2019re talking about here. It is completely and\u200d totally absurd. \u2064It\u2019s the kind of argument you make\u200b when\u200b you\u2019re ashamed of what you\u2019ve\u2062 done, and you know there\u2019s no defense for it, so you blurt out \u200cthe first thing that comes to mind. Saying that it\u2019s a \u2063sex crime for people to share a sex tape \u2062that you published on the internet is like selling your\u200d car to someone and then calling the police and claiming they \u2062stole it. Or \u200bperhaps \u200byou remember when Anthony Weiner claimed he was \u200dhacked because he had no defense for why he was sending pictures of his crotch to random women on the internet.\u200d It\u2019s a bit\u200b like that as well.<\/p>\n<p>The level of\u200c desperation is really something to behold. They\u2019re so desperate that \u2064they\u2019re co-opting the same terminology they\u200d told\u2064 us was sacred \u2014 the language of\u200b the #MeToo movement \u2014 as a political cover \u200bfor behavior they know is\u2063 repulsive. They\u2019re saying \u200dwe\u2019re all sex\u200b criminals for noticing what they\u2019re uploading on the\u2062 internet. This isn\u2019t simply hypocrisy,\u2063 these are the panicked cries of\u2063 feminists who are afraid to\u200d confront the logical endpoint of their entire\u2063 movement, which is that feminism doesn\u2019t actually liberate \u200cwomen from anything. Instead, it encourages them\u2064 to become \u200cslaves to their most degenerate, \u200bbase\u200c sexual desires.<\/p>\n<p>A great illustration of this hypocrisy comes to us from the feminist blog Jezebel. Jezebel, like the New York Times and CBS News, is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/jezebel.com\/republicans-try-to-smear-virginia-house-candidate-with-1850829023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claiming<\/a> \u2064that Republicans are demonizing Gibson\u2062 for \u2062the crime of having \u200csex with her husband. That\u2019s \u200cthe \u2064strawman they\u2019re running with, as unsurprising and predictable as it may\u200d be.\u2062 And Jezebel, of course, repeats the \u200cline that even talking about Gibson\u2019s videos might amount to \u2063a sex crime.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s especially interesting about Jezebel\u2019s coverage, though, is that they just ran a <a href=\"https:\/\/jezebel.com\/tim-scott-girlfriend-1850829741\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">long\u200c post<\/a> about the personal life of \u200bpresidential \u200dcandidate Tim Scott, saying he needs to be more open about why he doesn\u2019t have a girlfriend at the age of 57. The\u2062 piece mocks Scott for allegedly being a \u200dvirgin until he was \u200cmiddle-aged. It also suggests he\u2019s\u2062 suffering from \u201cmarriage-related trauma\u201d \u200dfrom his upbringing after his father, a Vietnam War veteran, developed a \u200ddrinking problem. So the progressive feminists at Jezebel \u2062are allowed to mock Tim Scott for\u200b all of \u200cthese personal issues \u2014 \u200bwhich they haven\u2019t even remotely verified.\u200c But\u200d at\u2063 the same \u2064time, Jezebel \u200balso says you can\u2019t talk about\u200c multiple sex tapes that a woman running for office in the Democratic Party published for public consumption. There\u2019s a lot of this on the internet now. The\u2064 same media outlets saying we should respect Susanna Gibson\u2019s privacy \u2014 even though\u2062 she\u2064 didn\u2019t respect her\u200d own\u2062 privacy \u2014 are also reporting incessantly about their speculations about Tim Scott\u2019s private life.<\/p>\n<p>To\u2062 be clear, some \u200cquestions \u200dabout Scott\u2019s \u2062personal life are legitimate. He seems \u2064very \u200bmuch to be lying about having a girlfriend, whom he\u2062 refuses\u2063 to identify\u200c in any way. It does sound a bit \u200clike he\u2019s pulling the old \u201cmy girlfriend goes to another school\u201d\u2062 move. And if \u2064we\u2019re being honest, it\u2019s weird to have a 57-year-old bachelor running for president. But at the same time,\u200b there\u2019s an obvious double standard in the way the media treats questions about\u200b a politician\u2019s private life, depending on\u200c their\u2063 political party. Another example is the\u2064 incessant reporting on the whereabouts of Melania Trump, who has been absent from the campaign trail. Again, I think objectively those are perfectly valid questions. But by the same token, once we allow \u2064for all of\u200b that, then it\u2019s\u2062 clear\u200c that\u2063 a political candidate\u2019s\u2062 history \u2064as a porn star \u200cis also very relevant.<\/p>\n<p>There is a reason the Left is denying this, and it has nothing \u2064to \u2063do with one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/strong-state-federalism-is-the-best-path-forward-right-now-for-the-gop-and-the-country\/\" title=\"Strong-State Federalism Is The Best Path Forward Right Now For The GOP (And The Country)\">state-level candidate<\/a> in Virginia. They\u2019re lying about what\u2064 Susanna Gibson did because\u200b her behavior highlights a very uncomfortable truth about the great experiment that the Left has \u2062conducted\u2062 for so many years. That truth is this:\u200b After\u200b multiple \u201cwaves\u201d and generations of feminism, which supposedly were \u200dall about\u2062 treating women like \u200cpeople instead of\u200d objects \u2014 \u2064that\u2019s how it was sold, anyway \u2014 pornography has now become so normalized and mainstreamed in our society that we have a bunch of soccer moms whoring themselves\u2063 out\u2062 on the internet for a few extra dollars. These \u2064aren\u2019t young girls getting sex trafficked or turning\u2064 to street\u2064 prostitution out of\u200c desperation. They\u2019re bored middle-class women\u2064 with loose morals looking for validation\u2064 and a little extra\u2064 spending\u2063 cash.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve talked many \u2063times about\u200b what I call the trajectory of leftism. With any item on their agenda, anything they promote, it always \u200cstarts\u2062 and ends the \u200csame \u200bway.\u2064 First,\u200b they deny that they are doing \u200cthe thing. \u200dThen they admit they\u2019re \u200ddoing it, but insist that it\u2019s good. Then\u2064 they say that since it\u2019s good, it should actually be celebrated. And finally, they invite \u2014 or demand \u2014 that\u2062 we participate. Now we see that pornography \u200dhas followed this same \u200dpath, and\u2063 we \u2064have finally arrived at the\u2064 participation stage \u2014 where the problem becomes terminal. First, they denied that they \u200cwanted to make hardcore\u2063 pornography mainstream and accessible to \u2064everyone, including children. Then they said that\u2064 actually porn is good\u2062 and should be mainstream. Then they \u2064demanded that we celebrate the free expression of porn stars. And now porn has been opened up for all to\u200c actively participate in it \u2014 an invitation that\u200d many attention-starved women like Susana Gibson have\u200b responded to.<\/p>\n<p>The problem \u2014 one of the\u2063 many, many\u200d problems \u2014 is\u2063 that selling\u2062 your body to random creeps online is\u200c depressing and \u200csoul-crushing. Eventually, these \u2062women all get sick of\u2064 it and want to move on. But there is no \u201cmoving \u2064on\u201d in the internet age. Everything you\u2019ve done there, you do\u200b forever. It lives \u2063on, whether you like it or \u2063not.
