To participate, \u2063organizations must have \u201cblack, Hispanic\/Latinx, or Indigenous\u201d members in both leadership\u200d and on staff.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/entrepreneur-camp\/how-to-apply\/\">program<\/a> will include two cohorts in October and November, the \u201cunderrepresented founders\u201d and \u201cfemale founders\u201d groups. The camps, which \u200doffer valuable resources such as \u2063\u201cone-on-one code-level guidance from Apple engineers,\u201d list eligibility requirements that exclude would-be participants on the basis of their \u2062race and\u200d sex.<\/p>\n<p>In order to participate in the \u200bunderrepresented founders program, an organization must \u200dhave \u201ca black, Hispanic\/Latinx,\u2063 or \u2064Indigenous founder, cofounder, \u200cor CEO,\u201d the eligibility requirements read. Organizations must also have a \u2062\u201cblack, Hispanic\/Latinx, Indigenous, or\u200d female \u2064developer.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"image\"><\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, Apple\u2019s \u201cfemale founders program\u201d stipulates that in order to be eligible, applicants must have \u201ca female founder, cofounder, or CEO\u201d as well as \u201ca female developer.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"image\"><\/div>\n<p>The program description denotes the word \u201cfemale\u201d\u2062 with an asterisk and includes \u2063a note at the bottom of the page that reads \u2063\u201cApple believes that gender expression is a fundamental right. We welcome all \u200dwomen to apply\u2062 to this program.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Legal Implications and Similar Programs<\/h3>\n<p>David Bernstein, a professor\u2063 at George Mason University\u2019s Antonin Scalia School of\u200d Law, told The Daily Wire that\u2063 a plaintiff looking to sue Apple would have to \u200breference California state law or the 1866 Civil Rights Act, which he stated is \u201cgenerally held\u2063 to be a bar to discriminating \u200bin any kind of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/company-running-iowas-education-savings-accounts-overcomes-fraud-allegations\/\" title=\"Iowa's education savings account company clears fraud allegations.\">contract based<\/a> on\u200d race.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApple\u2062 might have some special legal obligations to the extent it\u2019s a federal\u200b and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/illinois-governor-bought-state-contractor-stock-while-in-office\/\" title=\"Illinois Governor Bought State Contractor Stock While in Office\">state contractor<\/a>,\u201d Bernstein\u200c said.<\/p>\n<p>The programs <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/9Nq5w#selection-647.0-647.51\">promise<\/a> \u201cunprecedented access \u200dto Apple engineers and \u2064leaders\u201d and\u200d also awards participants with access to the \u201cextended network of Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni\u201d and a year of free access to \u201cbeta software, advanced app capabilities, extensive beta testing tools, and app analytics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Apple is \u200dfar from the only major company to impose race and sex-specific requirements on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sarah-huckabee-sanders-unveils-platform-for-2022-ark-governor-race\/\" title=\"Sarah Huckabee Sanders unveils platform for 2022 Ark. governor race\">training programs<\/a> and \u200binternships.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire recently\u2064 revealed \u2062multiple racially discriminatory programs hosted by well-known companies, including\u200b a \u201cdiversity \u2063internship\u201d at NASCAR that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/blatantly-illegal-nascar-bans-white-applicants-from-diversity-internship\">banned<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-justice-department-drops-discrimination-lawsuit-against-yale\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s Justice Department Drops Discrimination Lawsuit Against Yale\">white applicants<\/a> on the basis of their race and was \u2064called \u201cblatantly illegal\u201d by one lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>NASCAR <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nascar-takes-down-blatantly-illegal-racial-requirement-for-internship-after-daily-wire-report\">removed<\/a> the \u2064racial eligibility requirement following the report from The Daily Wire, but has not yet removed two other programs that \u2062similarly discriminate.<\/p>\n<p>There are also multiple \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/oracle-internship-scholarship-opportunities-bar-whites-and-asians-on-the-basis-of-race\">internships at Oracle<\/a> that discriminate \u200cagainst both white and Asian applicants on the basis of their race, as well as a\u200c \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/social-justice\/2023\/04\/20\/investment-management-firm-voya-excludes-whites-from-internship-scholarship\/\">diversity scholarship program<\/a>\u201d at Voya Investment Management that was similarly not open to white applicants.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, major corporations like\u200b US Bank, Bayer, Best \u200cBuy, and Liberty Mutual participated in McKinsey and Company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/major-bank-pharmaceutical-giant-participated-in-mckinsey-training-that-banned-white-people\">Connected \u2064Leaders Academy<\/a>, which exclusively offered training to black, Hispanic, and Asian \u2062employees, but not to white employees.<\/p>\n<p>Apple did\u200b not respond \u200dto a request for comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apple is organizing exclusive entrepreneur training camps, prioritizing race and gender.
