Their primary goal is to accelerate the transition towards global\u200d net zero greenhouse gas emissions \u200cand help deliver the goals of the Paris Agreement.<\/p>\n<h3>Potential Violation of Federal Antitrust Laws<\/h3>\n<p>The \u2063letter highlights \u200cthat all four\u2064 largest accounting firms, which hold about 75%\u200d of the market \u2063share in the industry, are\u2063 members and founders of the NZFSPA. This may be a violation \u2064of federal antitrust laws that broadly prohibit business competitors from engaging in concerted action in\u2064 restraint \u200bof\u2064 trade or\u200b commerce.<\/p>\n<h3>Industrywide\u2063 Standards and Collusion<\/h3>\n<p>The attorneys general argue that the commitment to industrywide standards, such as achieving net zero\u2062 greenhouse \u200dgas emissions and\u2062 coordinating market pressure, is \u2064evidence of antitrust collusion. \u2064They warn that\u200d this coordination \u2062could lead to a widespread boycott\u200c of critical industries \u200clike gas, \u200bcoal, \u200cand oil.<\/p>\n<h3>Request for Detailed Accounts\u2064 and Investigation<\/h3>\n<p>The attorneys general are requesting detailed accounts of communications among members, actions taken\u2063 to meet their commitment, and attempts to pressure other companies to join.
