the\u2064 spokesperson added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It is also \u2063not immediately clear \u200bexactly how\u2062 the change will impact\u200d drink\u2063 refills,\u2064 as every McDonald\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/man-loses-his-business-after-insulting-lebron-james-on-facebook\/\" title=\"Man Loses His Business After Insulting LeBron James On Facebook\">franchise location<\/a> has \u2063its own refill \u200cpolicies.<\/p>\n<p>The McDonald&#8217;s \u2062USA spokesperson also did not state \u200cif the\u2062 decision will\u200d also\u2062 impact McDonald&#8217;s restaurants in international \u200clocations.<\/p>\n<p>The Epoch Times has \u2064contacted McDonald&#8217;s for further\u200b comment.<\/p>\n<p>It\u200b is also unclear what prompted the move, although COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns\u200d have led to a change in eating habits for consumers, including \u200ba\u200d decline in fast-food \u2063restaurant dining and\u2063 a rise in consumers ordering food for takeout, according\u200c to experts.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h3>An increasing focus on \u200ccleanliness may have also prompted the change<\/h3>\n<p>The Springfield State Journal-Register <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sj-r.com\/story\/entertainment\/dining\/2023\/09\/08\/mcdonalds-ending-self-service-soda-fountain-drink-stations\/70785168007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that the pandemic \u200dsparked \u2064concerns about how to ensure self-serve stations are\u2062 kept \u200cclean.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The publication reports that McDonald&#8217;s restaurants will be \u200btransitioning \u2062to the crew pour system\u2063 after scrapping the\u2062 self-service stations, which will also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dutch-pm-tells-public-not-to-cuddle-grandkids-as-christmas-is-cancelled-in-the-netherlands\/\" title=\"Dutch PM Tells Public Not to Cuddle Grandkids as Christmas Is Cancelled in the Netherlands\">minimize contact<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\">\n<figure style=\"width:600px\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>A waiter at Raku, an\u2064 Asian restaurant in Bethesda, wears a protective mask as she serves customers outdoors amid\u200c the COVID-19 pandemic in Bethesda, Md., on June 12, 2020.
