However, his candid remarks\u2062 during the question-and-answer session on Tuesday were seen as unusual by\u2063 Russian critics\u2064 living abroad.<\/p>\n<h3>Exposing Deep Desires<\/h3>\n<p>According to Sergey Radchenko,\u200d an expert on\u2064 Kremlin efforts during the Cold\u200b War, Putin&#8217;s comments reveal\u200d his deeply-held desires and a longstanding belief among Soviet\u200b leaders that the \u2064West is in decline.\u200c Radchenko stated, \u201cIf \u2062a civil\u200c war broke out in America, Putin would be \u2062happy because this is what he wants, right? He wants this sort of thing. He wants to contribute to\u2063 it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-promises-to-prosecute-democrats-as-president-theyre-doing-it-to-us\/\" title=\"Trump vows to prosecute Democrats if elected, citing retaliation.\">faced multiple indictments<\/a> at the local, state, and federal level.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEverything that is\u200c happening to Trump is the political persecution\u200d of a political rival. Navalny\u200c was jailed on \u200bthe grounds \u2064of violating probation while \u200dcomatose during his recovery from \u200dan\u200b attempted assassination through \u200dpoisoning.<\/p>\n<p>Radchenko commented, \u2062\u201cThis whole tactic of\u200b whataboutism\u2063 has been a\u2064 really\u2063 major part of, not just\u200d Russian, but predating Russian, Soviet political culture &#8230; to deflect attention from domestic\u200c problems, domestic\u2063 woes, by claiming that Western opponents have it worse.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Endorsement from \u2063an\u2063 Unlikely Source<\/h3>\n<p>Former Wyoming\u200d Rep. Liz Cheney promptly highlighted Putin&#8217;s commentary on \u2064Trump&#8217;s\u2062 legal troubles. Putin acknowledged\u2062 that such a scenario would be favorable but downplayed the likelihood of Trump following \u200cthrough.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;So, I find it difficult to say what to expect from a new president, \u200bwhoever it may \u200cbe,\u201d Putin said. \u201cIt is unlikely, though, that any \u2062crucial change will take place, \u200cbecause \u200dthe current authorities have conditioned American society to be anti-Russia in nature and spirit; that is how things are.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Russian state media \u2064offered a more optimistic perspective from Moscow&#8217;s\u200c point of view on the implications of Trump&#8217;s political \u200dfuture.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cHe \u2063is the destroyer!
