He needs that extra time to help orchestrate the \u200dbest of all positions for himself in \u200ca plea deal that should\u200b infuriate every\u2062 Trump supporter, if\u200c not every American.<\/p>\n<p>Once \u200da part of the investigation that\u200b helped bury former President Donald Trump in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/media-say-bidens-female-led-comms-is-a-first-trump-has-that-now\/\" title=\"Media Say Biden's Female-Led Comms Is A First. Trump Has That Now\">false claims<\/a> of \u2063Russia collusion, the now-disgraced McGonigal has his own real Russiagate to contend with.<\/p>\n<p>He, in fact, did what \u200dhe \u2064and his FBI cronies vehemently accused Trump of doing: conspiring with Russian officials.<\/p>\n<p>The pot\u200d called the kettle black, and now the pot is asking the federal \u2064court for extra time\u2062 in order to\u200d coordinate an\u200c optimal plea bargain. I don\u2019t remember \u200cTrump receiving \u200bsuch consideration, do you?<\/p>\n<p>Where Trump didn\u2019t violate U.S. \u2063sanctions in\u200d conspiring with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fbi-agent-investigated-debunked-trump-russia-collusion-plead-guilty-russian-oligarch-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Russian oligarch<\/a>, McGonigal \u2062did.<\/p>\n<p>The former\u2063 head of the FBI\u2019s counterintelligence division in New York \u200dpleaded guilty to conspiring to launder\u2064 money\u200d and violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act in connection with a 2021 deal to provide services to Oleg \u200dDeripaska, the U.S.\u2064 Attorney\u2019s Office for the Southern District of New\u200b York said in an Aug. 15\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdny\/pr\/former-special-agent-charge-new-york-fbi-counterintelligence-division-pleads-guilty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201cAfter his tenure as a high-level FBI official \u200cwho supervised and participated\u2062 in investigations\u2062 of Russian\u2062 oligarchs,\u2064 Charles McGonigal has now admitted \u2064that he agreed to evade U.S. sanctions by providing services to one of those oligarchs,\u201d U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement.<\/h3>\n<p>Sentencing in \u2062that case \u200dis\u200d scheduled \u2062for Dec. 14.<\/p>\n<p>McGonigal, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/08\/15\/politics\/charles-mcgonigal-fbi\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">retired<\/a> from the bureau in 2018, also faces a nine-count indictment in Washington accusing him\u2062 of falsifying records and documents.<\/p>\n<p>Originally having pleaded not guilty to the charges, \u200bit seems he changed his mind, compelling his legal team and federal prosecutors to go back to the drawing board to begin hashing \u2064things out between them.<\/p>\n<p>So deep in the doo-doo has the former FBI official found himself\u200b that he filed a motion waiving his right to a speedy trial.<\/p>\n<p>McGonigal did so \u201cto \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-agent-who-helped-with-trump-russia-probe-begs-judge-for-patience-after-conspiring-with-russian-oligarch\/\" title=\"FBI agent in Trump-Russia probe seeks judge's patience after colluding with Russian oligarch.\">provide parties\u2062 additional time<\/a> to negotiate a potential resolution of this case\u201d ahead of a Sept. 21 status conference, the \u2064Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors did not\u2062 object to the \u2063request. I wonder what Trump thinks?<\/p>\n<p>The indictment says McGonigal \u201cmade false statements to\u200b conceal a $225,000 payment from a former member of Albania\u2019s intelligence \u200dservice and took a secret meeting with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama\u2064 while he still worked for the FBI,\u201d the Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s appalling that \u200ban FBI official would compromise the United \u200dStates\u2019 national security by working\u2062 for the\u200b other side \u2064and getting richer for it.<\/p>\n<p>Deripaska is\u200c a close friend of Russian leader <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/two-new-countries-set-join-nato-devastating-blow-vladimir-putin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vladimir Putin<\/a>, McGonigal didn\u2019t let that get in \u200bthe way of his decision to betray the American people, it seems.<\/p>\n<p>Part of a scheme\u2063 to investigate one of the oligarch\u2019s competitors in 2021, he and his partner in crime,\u2063 Sergey Shestakov, a\u200d court interpreter based in New York, accepted monetary dispensation through \u2064shell companies they both\u2063 set up, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMcGonigal \u200cmade at least \u200c$25,000 as an investigator for the law firm before directly working for Mr. Deripaska,\u201d the Times\u2063 reported. \u201cHe received an initial payment of $51,000 and then\u200b payments \u200bof $41,790 each month for three months from\u2062 August 2021 to November 2021, the indictment said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Olsen,\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-prison-nurse-found-guilty-of-sexually-assaulting-9-inmates\/\" title=\"Ex-Prison Nurse Convicted of Sexually Assaulting 9 Inmates\">assistant attorney \u200cgeneral<\/a> of \u2064the \u200cJustice Department\u2019s National Security Division, blasted the former \u200bFBI official\u200b in a statement last month, saying he \u201cbetrayed \u2062his oath and actively concealed his illicit work at the bidding of a sanctioned Russian oligarch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Such\u2062 actions by an FBI official would have been called a conspiracy theory in 2017\u2064 by Democrats and the media.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, however, many Americans \u200bare not shocked to learn of this kind of \u200cbehavior from a bureau official. \u2064How America\u2019s mighty\u200d institutions have fallen.<\/p>\n<p>It is a nightmare for Americans to know our personal and national safety have been placed in the\u2063 hands of corrupt scoundrels.<\/p>\n<p>And yet \u200cdespite\u2063 abusing the public\u2019s trust, McGonigal feels he is owed the right to ask a federal judge for\u2063 patience.<\/p>\n<p>Words \u2064can\u2019t express my disgust.<\/p>\n<p>We need to \u2064be harder on our criminals, especially those who compromise \u2063our health\u200b and welfare at the uppermost levels.<\/p>\n<p>The post\u200b <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fbi-agent-helped-trump-russia-probe-begs-judge-patience-conspiring-russian-oligarch\/\">FBI Agent Who Helped with Trump-Russia Probe Begs Judge for Patience After Conspiring with Russian Oligarch<\/a> appeared first \u2063on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\">The Western Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former FBI official Charles McGonigal is desperately seeking additional time from a federal judge in Washington.
