Smith,\u2064 a passionate advocate for\u200d trafficking victims, announced last month that he was preparing this crucial legislation.<\/p>\n<h3>A Hero&#8217;s Journey<\/h3>\n<p>Ballard, who has rescued thousands of children from human trafficking,\u2062 was invited to the conference by Rep. Smith.
