target=&#8221;_blank&#8221; rel=&#8221;noopener&#8221;>Bankman-Fried<\/a> texted him directly about the deal, prompting the following reply from Musk: <strong>\u201cSorry, who is sending this message?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once the two finally got \u2064on the phone together, Musk\u2019s impression of Bankman-Fried seemed \u2063to go from bad to worse, \u200daccording to the Journal\u2019s reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Musk said Bankman-Fried came off as fast-talking and self-interested in the\u2063 conversation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy bullshit detector went off like red alert on a Geiger counter,\u201d Musk said. <strong>\u201cHe was talking like he was on \u2062speed or Adderall, \u200ca mile a \u200cminute.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought he was supposed to be asking \u2062me\u200d questions about the deal,\u2062 but he kept telling \u200dme the things\u2064 he was doing.
