She has declared a public health emergency and issued \u200dan \u2063order to suspend\u200c open and concealed carry laws across Albuquerque and Bernalillo County for at least 30\u2063 days.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>This emergency order has sparked bipartisan backlash,\u200b with state lawmakers already preparing\u200d articles of impeachment.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI swore an oath on the \u2063Constitution, which is absolute, that I\u200d will uphold the \u200dConstitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic,\u201d Rep. \u200cJohn\u2064 Block (R-N.M.) told One America News. \u201cThis is a domestic enemy that we\u2019re having to deal with here.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Grisham&#8217;s ban on guns in public spaces across Bernalillo \u200bCounty will be in effect until October 8<sup>th<\/sup>. However, the Bernalillo County Sheriff\u2019s Office has announced that its deputies will not enforce the order.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThis is something that\u2019s \u200cnot only an attack on New Mexicans,\u201d Block said. \u201cThis is trying to set a precedent across \u2063the state, across the country, for \u2064other\u2064 tyrannical Democrat governors to do \u200djust \u200cthis.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>New\u2062 Mexico\u200c Attorney General Raul Torrez, \u200din a press release, has stated that \u200dhe will \u200dnot defend Grisham in a lawsuit filed by the National Association for Gun \u2064Rights, as he believes it violates the constitution.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NM Attorney General Raul \u200dTorrez \u200bsays he\u200d will NOT defend the governor\u2062 in several already filed lawsuits related to her \u200b30-day gun ban. \u201cI \u200bdo not believe that the Emergency Order will have any meaningful impact on \u2062public safety\u2026I do \u2064not believe it passes constitutional muster.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XsgZjie2eT\">pic.twitter.com\/XsgZjie2eT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Brittany \u2063Costello (@BrittanyKOB) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrittanyKOB\/status\/1701664688902398036?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 12, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cHe knows this is unconstitutional,\u201d Block\u2064 said. \u201cAnd he too did have that\u2063 oath \u2064of office that \u200bwe all\u200b are supposed to abide by.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Block reveals that he has reviewed an initial draft of articles of\u200b impeachment and\u200c hopes they \u2064will\u200b be\u2063 finalized \u2063by the \u200dend of the\u200d week. However, the New\u200c Mexico state constitution is unclear about the\u2063 impeachment process.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe House of Representatives brings forth the articles,\u201d Block explained. \u201cAnd then \u2062the Senate has to concur with the\u2062 House, and\u200b it takes a majority of House members\u2063 to impeach. So that would \u2064be 36 members.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Both sides of the aisle agree that this public health emergency is \u200cineffective and unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cShe \u2062threw the logic right out the window,\u201d Block said. \u201cBecause she said during the press conference on\u200b Friday, \u2018I know that\u200c these\u2064 criminals\u200d are not going to follow \u2063these edicts.\u2062 I know \u200dthat they\u2019re not, but I\u2019m still going to put this on \u2062law-abiding citizens.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThen we see two people have been murdered\u2063 in Albuquerque\u200c since her order \u2062took place,\u201d Block \u2062continued.\u2062 \u201cOne at a motel\u2063 and then one a couple of days before that.
