However, there&#8217;s a catch &#8211; these rules do not \u200bextend to criminal proceedings, including former President Donald Trump&#8217;s upcoming trials.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trumps-federal-trials-wont-be-televised-under-new-rules\/\" title=\"New rules prevent televised federal trials for Trump.\">federal\u200b court\u2063 proceedings prohibit<\/a> any form of video or photography inside courtrooms. This rule applied when\u2062 President Trump was arraigned earlier this year in two federal\u2062 cases. Virtual criminal proceedings have already been discontinued, except when specifically\u2064 authorized by a judge. This means \u200cthat President Trump&#8217;s federal \u2064trials, scheduled for\u2064 next year, will not be televised.<\/p>\n<p>Chief U.S. Circuit Judge Lavenski Smith, chair of the Executive Committee of the Judicial Conference, confirmed that there is &#8220;no debate&#8221;\u200c &#8211; these trials won&#8217;t be broadcasted. It seems that the \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/missed-gop-proxy-votes-aids-passage-of-dem-capitol-security-bill\/\" title=\"Missed GOP Proxy Votes Aids Passage of Dem Capitol Security Bill\">decision-making body<\/a> has remained firm on this\u200c matter.<\/p>\n<p>However, many Democrats \u2063and some Republicans have\u2063 called for exceptions to be made for President Trump&#8217;s criminal cases. They argue that broadcasting the \u2063proceedings \u2064would be\u200d crucial for transparency \u2064and the preservation of\u2063 our democratic institutions. In fact, about 40 House Democrats sent a letter to the Judicial Conference in August, urging them to allow the public to witness the trials.<\/p>\n<p>John Lauro, a lawyer representing President \u200bTrump, expressed his personal support for a televised trial. He believes\u200b that the Biden administration does not want the American people to see the truth. (REUTERS\/Brendan Mcdermid)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Constitutional law expert Alan Dershowitz has argued that \u2062televising the trials \u200dwould be beneficial in clarifying the\u2063 former president&#8217;s actions and \u2064role \u200din the cases. \u2064He believes that \u200cwithout televised \u200bproceedings, the public will only receive \u200bbiased reporting from\u200d media outlets, creating\u2063 a distorted\u200c view of the events.<\/p>\n<p>While President Trump&#8217;s federal trials won&#8217;t be broadcasted, there\u200d is a possibility of televised court proceedings \u200dduring his racketeering trial in Fulton County, \u2062Georgia.
