Before Granholm&#8217;s arrival, the energy secretary&#8217;s advance staff realized the station would not \u200cbe able \u2063to accommodate Granholm and her caravan\u2014one charger was broken and others were in use. A Granholm staffer subsequently <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/energy\/not-so-easy-being-green-jennifer-granholm-encounters-charging-woes-angry-families-on-electric-vehicle-promotion-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">used a gas-powered car<\/a> to block drivers from accessing the station&#8217;s only available charger until Granholm&#8217;s arrival, prompting\u200c one family to call\u2064 the police in an \u200dattempt to compel\u200d the staffer to move, NPR reported Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Granholm hoped the trip would showcase the wonders of electric vehicles and highlight the Biden administration&#8217;s spending to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/listen-to-911-call-from-frustrated-ev-driver-who-admonishes-jennifer-granholm-aide-for-hoarding-charging-station\/\" title=\"Hear 911 Call: EV Driver Upset Over Charging Station Hoarding by Granholm Aide\">improve green energy \u2064infrastructure<\/a> across the United States. Granholm&#8217;s June caravan\u2063 of EVs included a Ford F-150 Lightning and a Cadillac Lyriq, both of which can cost more \u2063than $60,000.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, the 911 caller at the backed-up \u2062Georgia station said she was able to find a charging \u2064spot, though other drivers had to wait until\u200b the ordeal&#8217;s conclusion, according to the NPR\u200d report.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s just par for the \u2063course,&#8221; one electric vehicle driver told the\u200c outlet.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200b Columbia County\u2062 Sheriff&#8217;s Office told the <em>Free Beacon<\/em> it dispatched a deputy to \u2063the\u200c scene following\u200b the 911 call, which took place on\u200c June 27.
