More specifically, McCarthy alluded to \u201ceyewitnesses\u201d to those dealings such as Mykola\u2063 Zlochevsky, the head of Burisma Holdings, the \u2062Ukrainian energy company \u200don whose\u200b board Hunter sat. According to intelligence <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/13\/grassleys-17-recordings-bombshell-brings-bidens-and-burisma-back-into-the-spotlight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">obtained<\/a> \u200d by Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, Zlochevsky has claimed to possess 17 audio recordings of \u2064conversations\u200b with the Bidens, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/13\/grassleys-17-recordings-bombshell-brings-bidens-and-burisma-back-into-the-spotlight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">two<\/a> \u2064 of which purportedly \u200dinvolve\u2062 then-Vice President Joe \u2064Biden.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/hunter-biden-threatened-my-father-could-hold-a-grudge-in-extortive-message-to-chinese-associate-revealed-by-whistleblower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WhatsApp\u200c messages<\/a> included in testimony\u2064 by \u2064IRS\u200c whistleblower Gary Shapley \u2062further indicate Joe\u2019s involvement in Hunter\u2019s business affairs. In one message allegedly sent to \u2064Chinese businessman Henry Zhao, Hunter threatened to use his father\u2019s political power to extort unfulfilled \u201cpromises and assurances\u201d from Zhao.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am\u2062 sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled,\u201d the message reads. Hunter also \u2064purportedly\u2063 indicated his \u201cability\u201d to\u200b \u201cforever hold a \u2064grudge that \u200byou will regret\u201d\u2063 with help\u2063 from \u201cthe man sitting next to me and every person he knows\u201d if Zhao did not \u2063meet his demands.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter\u2019s former business partner\u2063 Devon \u200dArcher also testified to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/24\/joe-biden-spoke-to-hunters-business-partners-at-least-24-times-former-associate-will-testify\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">at least 24 times<\/a> Joe spoke with \u2063his \u2062son\u2019s business associates. Curiously, since these\u200b revelations became public, the White\u2063 House\u2063 has <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/26\/karine-jean-pierre-once-again-flip-flops-on-joe-bidens-involvement-in-his-familys-foreign-business-dealings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shifted<\/a> its narrative \u200cfrom claiming Joe never \u201cdiscussed\u201d business dealings with Hunter to\u2064 now claiming the president \u201chas \u2063never been in business \u2062with \u2062his \u200bson.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Additional Allegations and DOJ Interference<\/h3>\n<p>During \u200bTuesday\u2019s press conference, McCarthy also pointed to \u2064Joe\u2019s\u200b use of his office to \u201ccoordinate with Hunter Biden\u2019s business partners\u2063 about Hunter\u2019s role in\u200b Burisma.\u201d\u2064 An FD-1023 obtained by Grassley\u2019s office containing\u2063 intel from a \u200d\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/05\/highly-credible-source-reveals-scandal-bigger-than-biden-bribery-fbi-election-interference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">highly credible<\/a>\u201d confidential human source \u2062(CHS) <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/20\/heres-everything-in-the-damning-fd-1023-document-that-implicates-biden-in-an-international-bribery-scheme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">offers further evidence<\/a> the then-vice president was instrumental in the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating\u200d Burisma. \u200bIt also contains \u200dallegations \u200dthat the Bidens were paid $10\u2064 million\u200c for Joe\u2019s role in firing the\u200c prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy also \u2062highlighted House Republicans\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/10\/bidens-made-millions-exchanging-political-favors-for-foreign-money-then-tried-to-cover-it-up-oversight-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">discovery<\/a> earlier this year \u200dthat the Bidens were paid millions of dollars\u2062 by\u200b foreign \u200dcompanies during and after\u2063 Joe\u2019s time in the \u200bObama White House. As The Federalist\u2019s Jordan Boyd previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/25\/here-are-all-the-people-who-have-corroborated-biden-family-corruption\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, a\u2063 review of bank records conducted by the House Oversight Committee \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/10\/bidens-made-millions-exchanging-political-favors-for-foreign-money-then-tried-to-cover-it-up-oversight-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">confirmed<\/a> that at least nine Biden family members, including some children, received millions\u200d in \u2064diluted payments from foreign companies\u2062 during and shortly after Joe\u2019s vice\u2063 presidency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy further emphasized the role the Department\u2063 of Justice has played \u2064in protecting\u2063 the Bidens from both criminal probes and congressional inquiries. According to testimony by IRS whistleblowers, federal prosecutors <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/delaware-prosecutors-hid-fbi-bribery-document-from-irs-investigators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">concealed<\/a> critical documents from tax \u2063investigators probing Hunter Biden while officials\u200c from the Justice Department sought to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/irs-whistleblower-fbi-tipped-off-people-very-close-to-joe-and-hunter-before-irs-investigative-teams-day-of-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">undermine<\/a> the IRS\u2019s \u200dinvestigative efforts. One of the whistleblowers had <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/16\/whistleblower-irs-removed-my-entire-investigative-team-on-the-hunter-biden-tax-probe-at-dojs-request\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">previously alleged<\/a> \u2063in May\u2064 that his investigative team had been removed \u200cfrom the Biden\u2063 tax probe at the behest\u2062 of the \u200bDOJ.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its alleged interference in the IRS\u2063 tax \u200cprobe, the DOJ also sought\u2062 to give legal immunity to Hunter regarding charges filed against him earlier this year.\u2062 A Delaware judge ultimately <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/27\/how-a-federal-judge-turned-the-tables-on-hunter-bidens-plea-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">exposed<\/a> the agreement for what it \u200dwas \u2014 a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/01\/house-republicans-probe-merrick-garland-over-hunter-bidens-atypical-plea-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sweetheart deal<\/a> designed to protect \u200dHunter and, by default,\u200b Joe\u200b from \u200cfuture\u2062 prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe American people deserve to know that the \u200bpublic\u2062 offices are not for \u200bsale, \u2063and that the federal government is not being used \u200bto\u2064 cover up the actions of a politically associated family,\u201d McCarthy said.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 impeachment \u200dinquiry will be led by \u2063Republican Reps. \u2064James Comer,\u2063 Jim \u200cJordan, and Jason Smith, according to McCarthy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Representatives.
