Nothing\u2019s changed, and now \u200deven some Democrats are \u201cconcerned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Veteran Democrat\u2063 Sen.\u200b Bob Menendez of New Jersey \u201cexpressed concerns\u2063 Monday amid\u200d reports that \u200cthe Biden administration agreed to unfreeze $6 billion for Iran in\u200c exchange for \u2064five U.S. prisoners.\u201d according to\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/4198776-menendez-voices-concerns-about-6-billion-u-s-iran-prisoner-swap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>. Menendez serves\u200b as chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2063timing\u2063 couldn\u2019t \u2062be worse. Though \u200cthe deal was certainly in the works\u200d before 9\/11, that\u2019s\u2064 when the news \u200dcame\u200b out \u2063\u2014 the anniversary of the \u200cmost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-infuriates-9-11-families-plan-spare-terrorists-death-penalty-sickening-betrayal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deadly\u2064 terrorist attack<\/a> the U.S. has \u200bever experienced. Talk about bad optics.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Menendez \u200ctold reporters:<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThis \u2062is an \u200bexample \u2064of \u2063why\u2064 we have to go ahead and make it very clear to\u200c Americans that they cannot travel to certain places in the world where they are likely to ultimately become \u2062a hostage. Until we do that\u200d we will constantly be in a set of circumstances\u201d in which the U.S. is put\u2062 into \u2062the unsavory position of negotiating with terrorists.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>One of Menendez\u2019 \u201cconcerns\u201d\u200d about negotiating with Iran regarding \u2062American prisoners unjustly detained \u2063is that it \u200cwill spur other hostile\u2062 nations to do the same. \u200cWhy not? If five hostages can put into play $6 billion \u200dfor the Iranians, there\u2019s \u2064an obvious profit to be\u2064 made in the hostage\u2062 trading game.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration claims \u2063the $6 billion comes in the form of unfrozen\u200d oil funds\u2063 and is \u201climited to the purchase of food, medicine\u2063 and other humanitarian \u200bgoods,\u201d according to The Hill.<\/p>\n<p>According to \u200bNational Security Council Spokesperson Adrienne Watson, Secretary of State Antony Blinken is making sure \u2063\u201cIranian funds can \u2063move\u200d from one restricted account to another and remain restricted \u2062to humanitarian trade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s like making sure rain doesn\u2019t fall during a hurricane. The Iranians aren\u2019t \u200cknown for playing by the \u200cU.S. rulebook.\u2063 If \u200dthey did,\u200d they\u2019d lose face in a bad way. If Blinken thinks he can make the Iranians play\u2062 fair, he needs to see a psychiatrist.\u200c Not only do you not negotiate with terrorists, you don\u2019t trust them either.<\/p>\n<p>GOP\u2063 Senator\u200d Mitt\u200d Romney \u200bof Utah shares Menendez\u2019s \u201cconcerns,\u201d according to The Hill. \u200d\u201cIf we\u2019re paying a billion dollars per \u2063kidnapped\u2064 individual, then you\u2019re going to see more kidnappings. That\u2019s why you don\u2019t \u2064negotiate with terrorists; that\u2019s why you don\u2019t negotiate with kidnappers,\u201d Romney said. \u201cThe\u2062 idea of basically \u2063paying to release, in this effect, a\u2062 hostage is a terrible idea\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/even-top-senate-democrat-bob-menendez-is-not-thrilled-with-bidens-9-11-iran-deal\/\" title=\"Top Senate Democrat Bob Menendez isn't pleased with Biden's 9\/11 Iran Deal.\">foreign policy decisions draw criticism<\/a> from top\u2062 Democrats and RINOs, it\u2019s\u200c time\u2063 for\u200c concern all right \u2014 and plenty of it.<\/p>\n<p>GOP Rep. Tom Cole of Oklahoma stated on his <a href=\"https:\/\/cole.house.gov\/media-center\/weekly-columns\/negotiating-terrorists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official website<\/a>, \u201cIt has been a longstanding policy of the United States that we will not negotiate with terrorists and we will not pay ransom money to free hostages.\u201d That was in 2016. Cole was \u2064criticizing the\u200d Obama administration for, well, negotiating with terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnbelievably,\u2064 we \u200dhave since learned that the Obama administration\u200b has also\u200b paid Iran $1.3 \u200cbillion dollars in 13 separate payments of $99,999,999.99,\u201d\u200d Cole lamented. \u201cThis, they explained, \u200cwas the interest we owed Iran for keeping the $400 million\u200d over the past few decades. This defies common sense by any definition. \u200cA country that held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days and has been\u200b a\u200d sworn enemy of the \u2064West \u2064and which is \u2062widely recognized as one of the leading\u2062 state\u2064 sponsors of terrorism should\u200c not be rewarded with a\u2063 refund on\u2062 an arms deal along with nearly 4 decades of interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefies common \u200bsense\u201d \u2063is an understatement. Obama appeared \u2064to be treating\u200c Iran as an equal business partner. Is Biden carrying on Obama\u2019s tradition? You decide.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. government <em>does<\/em> negotiate with terrorists. If that shocks you, it shouldn\u2019t. Welcome to\u200c the liberal America, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-high-energy-price-trap\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s High Energy Price Trap\">foreign policy makes<\/a> no\u200d sense and \u2064the American people are the ones \u2063who \u200dare held hostage.<\/p>\n<p>Bob Menendez and Mitt Romney are concerned when they \u2064should be afraid. But \u200dthey\u2019re not. Menendez\u2063 doesn\u2019t\u2064 think the new Iranian hostage deal will even make it \u2063to the floor for a vote where each senator\u2019s vote can be recorded.\u2062 I\u2019ll bet he\u2019s happy\u2064 about \u2062that.<\/p>\n<p>Biden, Blinken, the\u2062 rest\u200c of this administration \u2014 not one of them \u2063will be held accountable.
