Whitmer Kidnap Plot Says \u200bthe Scheme Didn\u2019t \u2063Seem Serious<\/a> (9\/7\/2023)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/us-nurse-kidnapped-in-haiti-speaks-via-video-for-first-time-since-her-release-5479983\">US Nurse Kidnapped in Haiti Speaks via Video for First Time Since Her \u2063Release<\/a> (8\/26\/2023)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Authorities said the \u200dmen were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/un-compound-attacked-in-afghanistan\/\" title=\"UN compound attacked in Afghanistan\">anti-government extremists<\/a> who were also furious over restrictions \u200cordered during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The Nulls and Molitor are charged with providing\u2064 material support for terrorist acts, namely aiding leaders Adam Fox and Barry \u2064Croft\u200c Jr., who were convicted last year in federal court.<\/p>\n<p>There is \u2063no dispute that the Nulls participated in militia-style training with dozens of people in September 2020 and \u200dthen \u2064joined a \u2063small group that drove\u200c 75 miles\u200b that same weekend to see Whitmer&#8217;s lakeside\u2062 vacation home.<\/p>\n<p>But William Null \u2064insisted he\u2062 had no active role in the \u2063surveillance and didn&#8217;t initially know that the purpose of the night ride was to see Whitmer&#8217;s house. \u2063He said Fox and Croft often were \u201chalf-baked\u201d on marijuana and spewing \u201ccrazy rants\u201d against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/schiff-nadler-call-flynn-pardon-abuse-of-power\/\" title=\"Schiff, Nadler Call Flynn Pardon 'Abuse of Power'\">government officials<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Null said he became concerned the\u200b next day when Fox, Croft and others \u2064talked \u200cabout getting a bomb to possibly blow up a bridge near Whitmer&#8217;s home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI literally locked eyes with my brother,\u201d Null testified. \u201cAt this point in time, I&#8217;m involved in something I\u200c do not want to be involved in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Defense attorney Damian Nunzio asked: Why not call police?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish I would have,\u201d Null replied. \u201cI didn&#8217;t want no more to do with this. &#8230; I should have, I guess.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On cross-examination, prosecutors, however, sought to portray Null as more wicked than genuinely regretful. They <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/man-charged-with-aiding-whitmer-kidnap-plot-says-he-should-have-called-police\/\" title=\"Man aiding Whitmer kidnap plot admits he should've called police.\">played secretly recorded audio<\/a> of him telling Fox that shooting Whitmer wouldn&#8217;t bring a life\u200b prison \u2063sentence.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So that was like a joke\u2064 to you about killing the governor?\u201d Assistant Attorney General\u2064 William \u2064Rollstin\u200c said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, I laughed at him,\u201d Null said of Fox.<\/p>\n<p>Null earlier \u2062explained to jurors that he had\u2064 started \u2062his own militia in 2015, partly \u2064to protect people who wanted to rally in favor of Donald Trump&#8217;s \u2062presidential campaign.
