His lawyers argue that going to trial in state court before his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-court-is-fast-tracking-sidney-powells-request-for-a-forensic-exam-of-dominion-voting-machines\/\" title=\"Federal Court Is Fast-Tracking Sidney Powell\u2019s Request For A Forensic Exam Of Dominion Voting Machines\">federal appeals<\/a> are complete would prejudice him in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/top-house-republican-opposes-new-congressional-probe-into-jan-6-capitol-attack\/\" title=\"Top House Republican Opposes New Congressional Probe Into Jan. 6 Capitol Attack\">ongoing criminal proceeding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAbsent a stay,\u200d there is a\u2062 substantial risk Mr. Meadows will be\u200d irreparably injured,\u201d\u2064 the new motion states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has a right to\u2062 appeal \u2026 and a stay of \u200dthe\u2064 remand order is prudent \u2018to help prevent [this] removed case from becoming a shuttlecock, batted back\u200b and\u2063 forth \u200dbetween a state court \u2064and a federal court,\u2019\u201d the \u200dmotion states, citing a 2021 precedent from\u2063 the 1st Circuit.<\/p>\n<p>The motion states that \u201cthe irreparable harm \u2063has already\u2064 begun.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Federal Judge Steve C. Jones denied Meadows\u2019s motion for\u2063 federal \u201cremoval\u201d of the case and sent it\u200b back to Fulton County Superior Court. Judge\u2062 Jones, appointed by President Barack Obama, found \u2063he lacked jurisdiction \u200din\u200b the matter.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump and several co-defendants have\u2064 also filed notices \u2064of removal with the same federal\u200c judge.<\/p>\n<p>Meadows \u2064has \u2062filed a notice of appeal directed\u2064 to\u200c the 11th Circuit, which has a reputation as\u2062 a conservative court.
