Now, it would take\u2064 Iran just 12\u2062 days to produce the fuel needed for its first nuclear warhead and a total of six \u200bby the \u200dend\u200c of one month. This also is an \u2062increase from May 2023 estimates\u200b when it was thought\u2063 Iran\u200d had \u200denough uranium to power five nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n<p>Iran has been growing its \u200dstockpile of highly enriched\u200b uranium since President Joe Biden \u200dtook office and restarted diplomacy over a revamped\u200c version of the 2015 nuclear pact.\u2064 In addition to not enforcing key sanctions \u2063on Iran\u2014providing\u200c it access to nearly <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/national-security\/cash-bonanza-iran-has-made-44-7-billion-in-illegal-oil-sales-since-biden-took-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$45\u200c billion<\/a> \u200cin oil\u200b revenue\u2014the \u200dadministration recently freed up an \u2063additional <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/national-security\/cash-bonanza-iran-has-made-44-7-billion-in-illegal-oil-sales-since-biden-took-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$16 billion<\/a>, a portion of \u200dwhich was the result \u2063of a hostage deal with the hardline regime.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Washington&#8217;s\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-derek-chauvin-trial-coverage-to-ninth-day\/\" title=\"The Derek Chauvin Trial \u2013 Coverage to Ninth Day\">de-escalation policy<\/a> has \u200bclearly\u2063 failed,&#8221; said Andrea Stricker, \u200ca veteran \u2064nuclear analyst who worked\u200c on the latest analysis\u2062 about Iran\u2019s current nuclear capacity. &#8220;Iran has \u200bamassed enough enriched uranium since May\u2014after the negotiation of the alleged\u200b de-escalation deal\u2014to\u2064 grow\u2064 its breakout capability from eight nuclear weapons to \u200dten weapons.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Analysts\u200d at the Institute for Science and International Security\u2063 are also concerned that &#8220;this breakout could be\u2063 difficult for the IAEA to detect promptly, if Iran delayed inspectors\u2019 access,&#8221;\u2064 as it\u2062 has \u2063done in the past.<\/p>\n<p>Within the second month of crossing the nuclear threshold, Iran could use its remaining stockpile of \u2064highly enriched uranium to produce \u2062&#8221;an \u2064additional two weapons,&#8221; according \u200bto the\u2064 institute\u2019s findings.<\/p>\n<p>Although Iran has slightly\u2062 slowed its enrichment of uranium and downgraded some of its stores, neither \u200cmove has &#8220;improved the breakout\u200d situation; in fact, the\u200b situation\u2062 worsened,&#8221;\u2064 according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Iran also obfuscates a portion \u200dof its nuclear \u200bwork\u2062 from international inspectors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For more than two and a half years\u2064 Iran has not provided updated declarations and the Agency \u200dhas not \u200dbeen able to conduct any\u200d complimentary access\u200d \u2026 to any\u200c sites \u200band locations in Iran,&#8221; the \u2064IAEA reported.<\/p>\n<p>Because Iran is\u2062 preventing the installation\u200d of &#8220;monitoring and surveillance \u200bequipment,&#8221; the IAEA doubts &#8220;its ability to ascertain whether Iran has diverted\u2063 or may divert advanced centrifuges,&#8221; the machines that enrich uranium to levels needed for a weapon, according to the Institute. &#8220;A \u2062risk is that Iran\u200d could accumulate a secret stock of advanced [nuclear enrichment] centrifuges, deployable in the future\u200d at a clandestine enrichment plant or during a breakout at\u2063 declared sites.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Another risk,&#8221;\u200c the group reported, &#8220;is that Iran will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/iran-can-produce-10-nuclear-bombs-in-4-months-watchdog-says\/\" title=\"Watchdog: Iran capable of making 10 nukes in 4 months.\">establish \u2062additional centrifuge manufacturing sites unknown<\/a> to the \u200dIAEA.&#8221; Iran has already \u2062&#8221;proven its \u2064ability to move manufacturing equipment to new, undeclared sites, further complicating any future\u200d verification effort and contributing \u2062to uncertainty\u2063 about where Iran \u200cmanufactures centrifuges.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This uncertainty highlights\u2062 Iran\u2019s efforts to hide a portion of its enrichment capability from \u200bthe international community. Already, &#8220;Iran is\u2063 building a new \u200bfacility in the\u200c mountains \u200cnear [the] Natanz\u200c [nuclear facility] \u200b that is deeply buried and could be a potential site\u2062 for a new enrichment \u200cplant.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s decision to remove the IAEA\u2019s surveillance and monitoring equipment from several sites has impeded the agency\u2019s &#8220;ability to provide assurance of the\u2063 peaceful\u2064 nature of Iran\u2019s nuclear program.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the face \u2064of these moves, the Biden administration is seeking a \u2062nuclear deal with\u200c Iran that will free\u2062 up billions more for\u2063 the regime, assets that are likely to be \u200cused to strengthen the country\u2019s nuclear\u2063 program and military.<\/p>\n<p>The only barrier to a deal is Congress, though lawmakers \u2063have not demanded an Iran policy briefing from \u200cthe Biden administration since\u2062 May.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Together with Republicans, Senate Democrats must\u2064 do the difficult\u2063 thing: oppose Biden&#8217;s new agreement\u200c and stop the hemorrhaging\u2064 of leverage and financial resources to Iran,&#8221; said Stricker, who is also a research fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies think tank. \u200b&#8221;Those funds enable Tehran&#8217;s nuclear build-up and terrorist activities, while rewarding the regime for\u2064 arming Russia\u200c against\u2062 Ukraine.\u2064 How bad must things get before\u2063 Congress intervenes?&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>uranium] for a nuclear weapon in a matter of months,&#8221; warns the watchdog.
