According \u2062to the\u200c U.S. Centers for Disease Control and\u200c Prevention (CDC), this subvariant has already been largely replaced by newer strains, including EG.5.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The CDC \u2062will be\u200b meeting with \u200cits advisers\u2062 to determine which populations should \u200creceive \u2062the new vaccines. If recommended, the federal government will cover the cost.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, many countries have advised\u200c against COVID-19 vaccinations for \u200byounger, healthy individuals due to the decline \u200bin disease prevalence.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>For example, the United Kingdom \u200bhas recommended vaccination this fall only for select groups, including those designated as at-risk.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>The CDC has also revised its recommendations earlier\u2064 this year for certain\u200c populations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Pfizer and Moderna have announced \u200dthat\u200b the\u200d cost of the new shots will\u200c be \u200capproximately $110 to $130.<\/p>\n<h2>Another Replacement<\/h2>\n<p>In the fall of 2022, the FDA\u2063 cleared and the \u200bCDC recommended updated shots due to waning effectiveness.
