There are some signs the justice system will hold.<\/p>\n<h3>A Victory for Justice<\/h3>\n<p>In one example of the system\u2019s strength when pushed to its limits, Republican \u2062Gov. Glenn Youngkin of \u2063Virginia has granted Scott Smith \u2014 a father prosecuted and \u2064convicted for doing what he felt he had to\u2063 protect his \u200cdaughter \u2014 a\u200d pardon.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, Smith confronted the Loudoun County School Board after his daughter was sexually assaulted at\u200d school by a boy wearing a skirt. The\u2063 angry father was arrested during the emotional encounter.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Shannon Bream on \u201cFox News \u2062Sunday,\u201d Youngkin said, \u200d\u201cWe righted a wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I\u2019m pleased to grant Scott Smith a pardon. \u200bHe is a dedicated Loudoun County father who was wrongfully\u200b prosecuted and convicted for \u2064standing up for his daughter at a \u20642021 Loudoun County School Board meeting after she was sexually \u2064assaulted at school. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6dWf88U2b1\">https:\/\/t.co\/6dWf88U2b1<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/WCEvciUfzT\">pic.twitter.com\/WCEvciUfzT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Governor Glenn Youngkin (@GovernorVA) \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovernorVA\/status\/1700878597123195294?\">September 10, \u200d2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He recounted that Smith\u2019s daughter had been sexually assaulted in a bathroom at Stone Bridge High School and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-grand-jury-indicts-ex-loudoun-county-superintendent-charges-related-handling-sex-assault-cases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Loudoun County<\/a> School Board tried to cover\u2063 it up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven worse,\u201d \u200cthe governor \u200dcontinued, \u201cwhat\u2063 then \u200chappened \u200cwas the perpetrator was moved to another school and sexually \u200cassaulted another young woman. This was \u200ba gross\u200c miscarriage of justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The board attempted to\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/parents-furious-school-board-buries-report-sexual-assaults-2-students-boy-wearing-skirt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cover up the sexual\u2064 assault <\/a>by voting not to release an independent report on the school\u2062 district\u2019s handling of \u200dthe two assaults in question. It <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/clinton-senior-campaign-team-leaves-lawyer-sussmann-in-tough-spot-ahead-of-durham-trial\/\" title=\"Clinton Senior Campaign Team Leaves Lawyer Sussmann in Tough Spot Ahead of Durham Trial\">cited attorney-client privilege<\/a> and privacy concerns for the student \u200cin an effort to squash the report.<\/p>\n<p>Two years ago, the board approved a <a href=\"https:\/\/go.boarddocs.com\/vsba\/loudoun\/Board.nsf\/files\/C5SKU952786E\/$file\/Policy%208040%2C%20RIGHTS%20OF%20TRANSGENDER%20AND%20GENDER-EXPANSIVE%20STUDENTS%20(June%208%2C%202021).pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">policy<\/a> allowing boys who identify as female to\u2063 use \u2063girls\u2019 bathrooms. The board members were pushing\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/op-ed-nutty-new-law-just-exposed-transgender-ideology-really\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transgender ideology<\/a> and would allow nothing to get \u200din their way.<\/p>\n<p>On May 28, 2021, a\u200d 14-year-old boy entered a girls\u2019 bathroom wearing a skirt and sexually assaulted\u2063 Smith\u2019s daughter.\u200d The board knew about the incident before it voted to suppress the independent report.<\/p>\n<p>Three months later, Smith\u2063 went to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/maryland-school-district-announces-policy-to-push-anti-racist-thinking-in-preschool-redefine-discrimination-and-racism\/\" title=\"Maryland School District Announces Policy to Push \u2018Anti-Racist Thinking\u2019 In Preschool, Redefine \u2018Discrimination\u2019 and \u2018Racism\u2019\">school board meeting<\/a> to get some answers because nothing of note was happening about\u2063 his daughter\u2019s situation. He got upset at being stonewalled. Progressive activists are bent on clogging up the courts in the\u200c hopes they will see favorable decisions by\u2062 judges with similar political delusions.\u200b Then there\u200b is the appeals process which can \u200dtake a lot\u200d of time and money. Sometimes the appeals go all the way to the top.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ehrlich-perfect-response-progressives-try-take-moral-high-ground\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Progressives<\/a> \u2064 seek \u2063to intimidate the average citizen \u2063into doing nothing, even when their children are under\u200b attack. Make no \u200bmistake, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/professors-peer-reviewed-paper-adolescent-trans-trend-pulled-lgbt-activists-complaints\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LGBT \u200dactivists<\/a> are after your\u2064 children. Scott Smith \u2064was\u200c up to the fight, and it paid\u200c off\u200b for him \u200cin the end.<\/p>\n<p>But what about the next \u200bcase?\u2062 What\u200d if it involves you?<\/p>\n<p>Progressives target \u200bcitizens who resist their hostile takeover of America and label them as criminals.<\/p>\n<p>Smith\u2019s pardon offers some hope that the \u2062justice system\u200b will hold against the progressive onslaught.
