According to \u200dPresident Biden, China&#8217;s current situation\u2064 may indicate a decline in its capacity \u2062to carry out such an invasion.<\/p>\n<p>President Biden,\u200d who recently attended the G20 summit in India, arrived in Vietnam on Sept. 10. During a \u2062press conference\u2064 in\u200d Hanoi, he \u200dexpressed his desire to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in the \u200bnear future.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;I hope I get to see Mr. Xi sooner than later. Mr. Xi \u2062has chosen \u2063not to attend the summit in India\u2062 and has sent Chinese \u2062Premier Li Qiang in his place without providing any reasons.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>President Biden believes that\u200d China&#8217;s\u200d current economic challenges make it unlikely for the country to invade \u200dTaiwan. He stated, &#8220;I don&#8217;t think\u2062 it&#8217;s going to cause\u200b China to \u200dinvade Taiwan. And [as a] matter of fact,\u2062 the opposite\u2014it probably doesn&#8217;t have the same\u200b capacity that it had before.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The United States has no intention \u200cof\u200b severing ties with China, but it will halt the \u2064sale of materials \u200dthat could\u200c potentially enhance China&#8217;s nuclear weapons\u2063 capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s \u200ceconomy is at risk of\u2063 falling short of Beijing&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/oil-edges-higher-buoyed-by-tighter-supplies-china-stimulus\/\" title=\"Oil prices rise due to reduced supplies and stimulus measures in China.\">annual growth target<\/a> of \u2063about 5 percent due to a worsening property slump, weak consumer \u2063spending, and declining credit growth.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h2>CCP&#8217;s Potential Drive to Invade Taiwan<\/h2>\n<p>The Chinese Communist \u2063Party (CCP) considers Taiwan a renegade province \u200cthat must\u200d be reunified with mainland China \u2064by \u200dany means necessary, \u200bdespite Taiwan&#8217;s status as a self-governing democracy.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<figure style=\"width:600px\" class=\"aligncenter\"><figcaption>A \u200dhelicopter\u200b and boat under the Eastern Theater Command of China&#8217;s People&#8217;s Liberation Army (PLA)\u2063 take part in a maritime rescue drill as part of \u200cmilitary\u200d exercises in the waters around Taiwan at an undisclosed \u2063location on Aug. 9, 2022. (Eastern Theatre Command\/Handout via Reuters)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>China \u200dhas been increasing military\u2064 pressure on Taiwan, with almost daily incursions into Taiwanese airspace.\u200c On Sept. 11, Taiwan&#8217;s \u2062military\u200b detected <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MoNDefense\/status\/1701044941034807341\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">26 \u200bChinese warplanes<\/a> and\u2064 13 vessels, \u200dwith 11 of the aircraft crossing the median line of the\u2062 Taiwan Strait.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In response, Taiwan has deployed its own aircraft, navy vessels, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/steps-the-u-s-can-take-to-defend-against-chinas-missiles\/\" title=\"Steps the U.S. Can Take to Defend Against China\u2019s Missiles\">land-based missile systems<\/a> to monitor the Chinese military activities.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Meanwhile, American\u200b journalist and author Gordon Chang, known for\u200b his book &#8220;The \u200bComing Collapse of China,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/world\/sign-china-is-preparing-for-war-increasing-gordan-chang-5477504\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">expressed \u200dconcerns<\/a> that China&#8217;s \u200bdomestic problems could push Mr. Xi to launch\u200c an invasion of Taiwan.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cHe has\u200b the incentives to go to war because China is in crisis. They\u2019re experiencing debt \u200bdefaults by major property companies, plummeting property prices, a declining economy, worsening food shortages, deteriorating environment, and failing local governments,\u201d he stated at the Conservative Political \u200dAction Conference\u2064 in Sydney on Aug. 19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cXi\u200d Jinping knows\u200d he\u2019s being \u200dblamed for all these problems. He knows he \u2063has no solution\u200c to them, so he could very well go out and \u2062start a war to divert the Chinese people\u200c from his policy mistakes,\u201d Mr. Chang\u2063 told The Epoch Times after the speech.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if the CCP can afford a war, Mr. Chang responded affirmatively: \u201cI think \u2064that they can afford a war.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think that they\u2019re ready\u200b to go to \u2064war, but that \u2064doesn\u2019t mean they\u2064 won\u2019t start a \u200cwar because they might think that if they don\u2019t start a war now, they\u2019ll \u200dnever be able to accomplish what they set out to do, so \u200cthey very well may decide their best chance is now, and\u200c that means they can take us by surprise,\u201d he\u200c added.<\/p>\n<p>Taiwanese\u2064 Foreign Minister Joseph Wu\u2062 believes that the Chinese regime is &#8220;more likely&#8221; to take action against Taiwan in 2027, as the CCP leader may view aggression towards \u2063Taiwan as a way to gain support from \u2063the Chinese people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>conference, President Biden expressed his belief that China&#8217;s economic challenges might prevent them from attempting to invade Taiwan.
