According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1166559\/000110465923091369\/xslForm13F_X02\/infotable.xml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disclosure form<\/a>, \u2062the total purchase was $96,594,160. With Anheuser-Busch closing at <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/BUD\/key-statistics?fr=sycsrp_catchall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$56.22<\/a> on Friday, that\u2019s worth about $95 million now.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-anheuser-busch-executive-warns-bill-gates-is-making-a-mistake\/\" title=\"Ex-Anheuser-Busch Exec cautions: Bill Gates' error!\">computer billionaire reportedly gobbled<\/a> up the stock expecting the\u2064 company to\u200c make a major comeback after the debilitating boycott of its Bud Light brand.<\/p>\n<p>Bud Light was once the No. 1 selling beer in America, but after \u200dan ill-advised <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bud-light-issues-statement-putting-new-face-beer-can-makes-worse-company\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">partnership<\/a> with\u200c transgender TikTok influencer, Dylan Mulvaney, the brand has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/official-bud-light-loses-top-selling-beer-status-us-brand-now-king\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">been toppled<\/a> \u2062from its top spot.<\/p>\n<p>In \u200ca matter of only \u200ca few short months, a massive and almost entirely \u200borganic boycott leaped into being after \u200cAmericans were turned off by the \u2064Muvaney partnership campaign coupled with the proclamation by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/anheuser-busch-makes-major-shakeup-bud-light-bad-news-vp-behind-mulvaney-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alissa \u200bHeinerscheid<\/a>, the now-former Bud Light marketing vice president, that its customer base\u200d was \u201cfratty\u201d and \u201cout-of-touch\u201d and needed a makeover.<\/p>\n<p>The losses have continued, Beer Business Daily publisher Harry Schuhmacher \u200btold <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/beer-industry-expert-bud-lights-decline-looks-quasi-permanent-those-consumers-just-lost-forever\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a> \u200bon Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou see \u200cBud Light still just stubbornly \u2064down around 30 percent in volume compared to last year, which\u200b is where it\u2019s \u2062been since May or\u200c June,\u201d Schuhmacher said. \u201cThat \u2062tells me that this is \u200cquasi-permanent, meaning those consumers are just lost forever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And \u200cit was reported \u2064that rival beer brand Modelo (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elpasotimes.com\/story\/money\/business\/2023\/06\/28\/who-owns-modelo-mexican-lager-beats-bud-light-as-americas-top-beer\/70342506007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">another Anheuser Busch brand<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bud-light-suffers-biggest-loss-yet-new-brand-becomes-americas-best-selling-beer-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">had \u200csurpassed Bud \u2063Light<\/a> at grocery and alcohol stores.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all that, Microsoft\u2064 billionaire and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bill-gates-wants-global-group-score-humanity-coming-years-pandemic-preparedness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nanny state<\/a> \u2063advocate \u2063Bill Gates has\u200d jumped in to express\u2062 his faith in\u200c the beer company.<\/p>\n<p>But the faith is misplaced, according to Anson Frericks, former Anheuser-Busch president of operations, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/business-leaders\/bill-gates-big-bet-bud-light-mistake-former-anheuser-busch-exec\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBill \u200cGates is definitely \u2063making a mistake,\u201d Frericks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.strive.com\/bio\/anson-frericks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">now president<\/a> \u2064of Strive Asset Management, said Wednesday on \u201cCavuto: Coast to Coast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarlier this year,\u200c he already made a $900\u200b million \u200dmistake \u2062when he invested into\u200c one of Anheuser-Busch\u2019s\u2064 largest rivals, Heineken. He did that earlier this year. And since that investment, Heineken\u2019s down about 10 percent, whereas the broader markets are \u200bup \u206410 percent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, if I was\u200c looking for advice on investing to\u200c software companies, tech companies, I might go to \u2063Bill \u2063Gates. But if you\u2019re looking at the beer industry, he doesn\u2019t have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nc-dem-senate-hopeful-claims-critical-race-theory-doesnt-exist\/\" title=\"NC Dem Senate Hopeful Claims Critical Race Theory \u2018Doesn\u2019t Exist\u2019\">great track record<\/a> of investing\u200d in winners\u200c at this \u2064point.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watch\u200d the latest video at \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\">foxbusiness.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Frericks \u200dpointed out that it probably won\u2019t much help Anheuser-Busch once people learn that Gates just poured tens of millions into the beer company\u2019s stock \u200bas the idea of \u200da Bill Gates investment won\u2019t connect well with the \u201ceveryday\u201d beer drinker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the company\u2019s sake, they\u2019d probably be better \u2062off [with] maybe somebody who is more of, kind of the everyman type of person, maybe like \u2064a Rob Gronkowski or somebody like that was investing into Anheuser-Busch,\u2062 not necessarily somebody \u200clike\u200c Bill Gates,\u201d Frericks explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat doesn\u2019t really resonate with sort of that common man, \u200cthat everyday Bud Light beer\u200d drinker,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Gates is known as \u200ban elitist\u2062 who wants to force \u200bus all to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/usda-decides-bill-gates-approved-fake-meat-cancer-tumors-totally-safe-eat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eat fake meat<\/a>, wants\u2062 us all to be \u2063caught in a cycle of forever taking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bill-gates-announces-covid-makes-vaccine-statement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19 \u2064vaccines<\/a>, and is infamous for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/climate-alarmist-bill-gates-unveiled-guilty-pleasure-infuriate-everyone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">championing<\/a> socialist climate\u2062 change \u200bpolicies.<\/p>\n<p>But he isn\u2019t known as the buddy you\u2019d like to have a beer \u2062with.<\/p>\n<p>Frericks has been critical of the Bud Light\u2063 fiasco \u2062for \u2063some time, of course. \u2062He has said that Anheuser-Busch in general and its Bud Light division in \u200cparticular has put politics over customers.<\/p>\n<p>He also dinged Anheuser-Busch for failing to convince customers\u2064 \u201cwho they\u2063 are actually brewing their beer for\u201d and not assuring beer fans that the company is concerned \u2062with\u200b the\u2063 quality of its beer, not the\u200b quantity of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/leftists-will-enraged-wsj-reveals-latest-trend-layoffs-workplace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">political\u2063 proclamations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But this is a problem in the \u2064greater corporate world, too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s one camp that says that Anheuser-Busch, \u2064they have a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders\u2063 and to \u2064take a look at just\u200d providing great products and services for\u2064 their shareholders. \u2062That\u2019s the camp that I am in,\u201d Frericks told Fox.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s another \u2063camp, this\u200b is in the\u2063 BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard camp, that would have \u2062Anheuser-Busch focus on more stakeholders and stakeholder capitalism, having \u2064them\u200b not necessary focus on shareholders,\u2062 but activists, political\u2063 organizations, others,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>To sum up, Frericks asked, \u201cIs it\u200b just going to be [focused] \u200c on\u2062 just serving great beer \u200bthat\u2019s cold, \u2064and it\u2019s about football\u2063 and backyard barbecues \u200bfor customers? Or are they going to be \u2062getting involved in these political issues?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That is just the\u2063 question, \u2062isn\u2019t it? For Target, for Bud Light, for Nike, and\u2064 every other massive corporation out there today.<\/p>\n<p>Are they interested in producing and selling their products, or in\u200b pushing radical, anti-American, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/megadonors-pour-record-amount-of-money-into-get-out-the-vote-effort-for-dems\/\" title=\"Megadonors Pour Record Amount of Money Into \u2018Get Out the Vote\u2019 Effort for Dems\">left-wing political<\/a> causes?<\/p>\n<p>One thing is sure.
