This\u200b does not have \u2062to incorporate any \u2064kind of \u200dfinancial investment \u2062or financial sacrifice, but merely giving the best \u2064of \u200doneself, being \u200dcreative \u200cand imaginative. \u200bThe final principle, \u2062he said, is reinventing oneself every day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe\u2064 ultimate Fred is excited, not because he or she\u200c has to do \u2064these things, but because they can, they\u2063 choose to,\u201d \u2063he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Sanborn said that these principles are\u2063 key to being\u2063 a strong \u200dleader, not just in one&#8217;s private life but also \u2062at \u200cwork. And that&#8217;s really \u200bwhat \u200cthe &#8216;R&#8217; is about as far as the recognition and the reward,&#8221; he said. \u201cOnce you&#8217;ve identified those people, let\u200b them \u200bknow you appreciate them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;E&#8221; is for educate,\u200c while the &#8220;D&#8221; he said &#8220;is the key to leadership.&#8221; \u200dHe said it \u2062stands for &#8220;demonstrate it.&#8221; \u2064Rather\u200d than making people do something, one should lead by example.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think what you can do is invite people\u200b into greatness,\u2063 not through some kind of arrogance, but just by choosing to \u2063be a role model \u200bfor what it&#8217;s like to do the\u2062 things\u2064 that Fred did,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>As Mr. Sanborn explained, before embarking on a quest to become a good leader, one should examine one&#8217;s motives \u2064for wanting to do so.\u2062 If one&#8217;s motives are purely based on\u200b personal ambition and recognition, these are very short-lived.
