X, \u2063previously known \u200bas \u200bTwitter, boss\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/democrat-governor-facing-calls-impeachment-musk-attack-2a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elon Musk<\/a> \u200casked whether she should be \u2064impeached, a sentiment with which two state lawmakers agreed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an abhorrent attempt \u200dat imposing \u200da radical progressive \u200dagenda on an \u2062unwilling populous. Rather\u2062 than addressing crime\u2064 at its core, Governor Grisham is restricting\u2062 the rights of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/utah-axes-gun-permit-requirement\/\" title=\"Utah Axes Gun-Permit Requirement\u00a0\">law-abiding gun owners<\/a>,\u201d Republican state Rep. Stefani Lord <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Lord4NM\/status\/1700586411852734578\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven Grisham believes this emergency order won\u2019t \u2064prohibit \u200bcriminals from carrying or using weapons; a basic admission that this will\u2063 only put New Mexicans in danger as they won\u2019t be able to defend\u2064 themselves from violent crime,\u201d\u200d she wrote in a release posted \u200cthere.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">PRESS\u200c RELEASE:\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepBlock?\">@RepBlock<\/a> &#038; I are calling for the impeachment of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovMLG?\">@GovMLG<\/a>. John Block (@RepBlock) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepBlock\/status\/1700945536873042030?\">September 10, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The two lawmakers told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.krqe.com\/news\/new-mexico\/two-lawmakers-call-for-impeachment-of-governor-lujan-grisham-after-public-health-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KRQE-TV<\/a> that they \u200cwould\u2064 not be idle as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/study-shows-good-guys-guns-effective-stopping-active-shooter-situations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Constitution<\/a> was \u200dviolated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe made an oath, which is a promise\u200b that we swear that we\u2019re going to uphold the Constitution, the rights of New Mexicans, and she threw that right out the\u2064 window,\u201d Lord said, adding, \u200c\u201cI was completely shocked and taken by surprise \u200cthat \u200dshe would \u2063do such a gross overreach and completely violate the\u2063 Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Block said Lujan-Grisham \u201ccalled for open season on law-abiding citizens by subverting the state \u200cand federal constitutions and laws of our\u2062 state, and that\u2019s something that \u200bneeds to be remedied immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Legal scholar and George Washington University professor John Turley \u200dheaped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/albuquerque-da-refusing-enforce-governors-suspension-2nd-amendment-rights-clearly-unconstitutional\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disdain<\/a> \u200b upon the order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe order,\u2064 in my view, is flagrantly unconstitutional under existing Second\u2062 Amendment precedent. \u200cIt could also be a calculated effort to evade a ruling by\u2063 making the period of suspension \u2063so short that \u200dit becomes moot before any final decision \u200dis reached by\u2063 a \u200bcourt,\u201d he \u2062wrote on his <a href=\"https:\/\/jonathanturley.org\/2023\/09\/09\/new-mexico-governor-suspends-gun-rights-in-albuquerque-for-public-health-emergency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Turley also\u200d noted \u200ca disturbing \u200btrend of which the order\u200d is a part.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The order, in my view, is flagrantly unconstitutional\u200d under existing Second Amendment precedent. There have also\u200d been calls to declare racism\u200c a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/congress-aims-to-tackle-antibiotics-time-bomb\/\" title=\"Congress targets antibiotic crisis\">public health\u2064 emergency<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apha.org\/Topics-and-Issues\/Racial-Equity\/Racism-Declarations\">supported by groups like the American Public Health Association<\/a>,\u201d he\u200c wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTransgender programs have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/06\/06\/us\/hrc-lgbtq-emergency-declared\/index.html\">also been declared<\/a> a public health emergency \u200bby\u200d some \u200bgroups.
