In response, \u200cDr. Fauci \u200daddressed the issue of\u2063 misunderstood\u200b studies, \u200bincluding one published by Cochrane Library.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>In the Cochrane Library study, researchers found that\u2062 &#8220;wearing masks in the community probably \u2062makes little or no difference to the outcome of influenza\u2010like illness (ILI)\/COVID-19 like illness compared to not wearing masks.&#8221; However, a subsequent\u200c statement by\u200d Cochrane Library clarified that \u2064the \u2064results were inconclusive\u2063 and did not prove that &#8220;masks don&#8217;t work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Contrary\u2064 to these findings, there have been hundreds of studies since 2020 suggesting that\u2064 masks\u200c do little to prevent\u200c the spread of COVID-19. Despite \u200dthis, Dr.\u2064 Fauci \u2062and other federal officials have consistently emphasized\u200c the effectiveness of masks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the Sunday interview, Dr. Fauci reiterated\u2063 his belief in the efficacy of masks, stating that there\u2064 are \u2062numerous \u2064studies showing that masks do work.<\/p>\n<h3>Recent Mask Mandates<\/h3>\n<p>While federal mandates may not be implemented,\u2062 several schools, colleges,\u200c businesses,\u2062 hospitals, \u2062and local governments \u200bhave \u2063chosen to \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-reimpose-mask-orders-amid-rise-in-covid-19-cases\/\" title=\"Democrats reimpose mask orders amid rise in COVID-19 cases\">reimplement mask mandates<\/a> in response to \u200crising COVID-19\u200b cases.<\/p>\n<p>For example, a \u200dschool in Montgomery County, \u2063Maryland, reinstated\u200b a \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ramaswamy-floats-naming-ted-cruz-and-mike-lee-as-next-conservative-supreme-court-justice\/\" title=\"Ramaswamy suggests Ted Cruz and Mike Lee for conservative SCOTUS justices.\">mask \u200dmandate<\/a> for kindergarteners\u200b after three students \u200btested positive for \u200bCOVID-19. \u200dSimilarly, a school district in Alabama\u2064 mandated masks due to an increase in cases in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a judge in \u200cDallas County, Alabama, \u200dannounced a mask mandate for county buildings open to\u200d the public, \u200dciting a rise\u200d in \u200dCOVID-19 cases nationally and locally.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width:1024px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"alignnone\">\n  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/example.com\/image.jpg\" alt=\"Students and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nolte-truckers-should-attend-the-maskless-no-mandate-oscars\/\" title=\"Nolte: Truckers Should Attend the Maskless, No-Mandate Oscars\">parents arrive masked<\/a> \u2064for the first day of the school\u200d year at Grant Elementary School in \u2063Los\u200d Angeles on Aug. \u206416, 2021.&#8221;\/><figcaption>Students and parents arrive masked for the first day of the school year at Grant Elementary School in Los Angeles\u2063 on Aug. 16, 2021.
