If that happens, Democrats could \u2063potentially gain a seat from the\u200c GOP, as the\u200b current delegation consists of 20 Republicans and eight Democrats.<\/p>\n<h3>Ohio<\/h3>\n<p>The congressional map used in 2022 in Ohio will\u2064 remain \u200din place \u200cfor the 2024 elections after \u2064a challenge to its\u200d legality was dismissed \u2064by the Ohio Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>Petitioners had concerns that a new map would be more favorable to Republicans, but the current map will stay for at least \u200cthe next election. \u2063Currently, Ohio has 10 districts represented by Republicans\u200b and five\u200b represented by Democrats.<\/p>\n<h3>Alabama<\/h3>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/redistricting-2023-the-status-of-contested-congressional-maps-in-three-states\/\" title=\"Redistricting 2023: Updates on disputed congressional maps in 3 states.\">federal district court struck<\/a> down a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/illinois-democrats-seek-to-maximize-their-partys-seats-axe-republicans-in-new-proposed-congressional-map\/\" title=\"Illinois Democrats Seek To Maximize Their Party\u2019s Seats, Axe Republicans In New Proposed Congressional Map\">proposed congressional map<\/a> for Alabama, stating that it failed to \u200dadhere to the Supreme Court&#8217;s ruling for a second <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/state-lawmakers-ordered-to-redraw-congressional-districts-proposed-map-to-be-released-monday\/\" title=\"Lawmakers instructed to redraw congressional districts, proposed map to be released Monday.\">majority-black\u200d district<\/a> in the state.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We are \u200bdeeply troubled that the State enacted a map that the State \u200breadily admits \u2064does not provide the remedy we said federal law\u200b requires,&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Alabama\u2063 Secretary of State\u200b Wes Allen has \u2062filed an appeal to the Supreme Court and requested a stay on the ruling.
