Michelle Lujan Grisham, apparently \u200bthink that the 2020 lockdowns were a mere dress rehearsal for the \u2064real power grab: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/women-gun-owners-respond-bidens-massive-gun-grab-joe-come-take\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disarming Americans<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Just in \u200dcase you haven\u2019t heard, Grisham sent shock waves throughout the country when she announced Friday that, due to a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/emergency-health-order-suspends-2nd-amendment-rights-citizens-effective-immediately\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">health emergency<\/a>,\u201d she was upending the Second Amendment.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the sort of shameless power (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/study-shows-good-guys-guns-effective-stopping-active-shooter-situations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gun<\/a>) \u200dgrab you\u2062 would expect from a despotic tyrant in \u2064a Third-World country \u2014 not a duly elected United States official.<\/p>\n<h3>Grisham&#8217;s\u200d Unconstitutional Decision-Making<\/h3>\n<p>Grisham took to social media on Thursday and Friday, in a feeble attempt to explain\u2063 away her potentially\u2064 unconstitutional decision-making.<\/p>\n<p>First, on Thursday, Grisham declared a \u201cpublic \u2063health emergency,\u201d which would turn out to be quite the sinister\u200b precursor:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Today, I signed an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-york-gov-cuomo-announces-executive-order-declaring-gun-violence-disaster-emergency\/\" title=\"New York Gov. Cuomo Announces Executive Order Declaring Gun Violence \u2018Disaster Emergency\u2019\">executive order declaring gun violence<\/a> a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/martinez-we-have-2-4-hour-lines-due-to-new-mexico-lockdown\/\" title=\"Martinez: 'We Have 2-4 Hour Lines' Due to New Mexico Lockdown\">public health emergency<\/a>.\u2062 To\u200b my fellow citizens: get loud. Step up. Demand change: from\u200c your \u200bneighbors, from your friends, from your communities, from your elected leaders. Enough is enough. More coming from me tomorrow. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jOt4fv4YDC\">pic.twitter.com\/jOt4fv4YDC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (@GovMLG) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovMLG\/status\/1699926449178763292?\">September 7, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cToday, I signed an executive order declaring gun violence a public health emergency,\u201d \u2064she wrote Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>That little power grab paved the way for this Friday announcement:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Today I issued a 30-day ban \u2063on the open &#038; concealed carrying of guns in Albuquerque and Bernalillo \u200dCounty. Gun violence is killing between 2 \u200band 3\u200c children every month in NM \u2013 every single one of these deaths is unconscionable and they must stop. \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KJdXUMBVaG\">https:\/\/t.co\/KJdXUMBVaG<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (@GovMLG) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovMLG\/status\/1700304261383405883?\">September 9, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cToday I issued a 30-day ban on the open &#038; \u200dconcealed carrying \u200bof \u2062guns in Albuquerque and Bernalillo \u200cCounty,\u201d Grisham wrote. \u201cGun violence is\u200b killing between 2 and 3 children every\u2062 month in NM \u2013\u200c every single one\u200c of\u2062 these deaths is unconscionable and \u200dthey must stop.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Suspending the \u200dSecond Amendment<\/h3>\n<p>For those of you \u2064who are constitutionally \u200dchallenged, here\u2019s what\u2064 the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States (you know, that little piece of parchment that is at the root of the greatest country on Earth) \u200bsays, in part: \u201cThe right of the people to keep \u200band bear Arms, shall \u200bnot be infringed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Giving yourself\u200c the power to suspend the Second Amendment, and then actually suspending it (it doesn\u2019t matter whether \u2062it\u2019s for \u200d30 minutes or 30 days), \u200bcould not\u200b infringe on those rights any more.<\/p>\n<p>And just in case you are the incredibly gracious type, and are willing to give Grisham the benefit of the doubt. .. don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>Her follow-up remarks \u2063at a news conference illustrated just how drunk with power (and how aggressively unconstitutional) she actually is:<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\">\n<\/div>\n<p>When pressed on why the civil order was required, instead of something like, say, \u2063better law enforcement, Grisham stressed all of the \u201cvalue\u201d that this order \u200cwould\u200c give her (yes, her.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe value \u2062of the order is that it gives me three things,\u201d Grisham said. (And yes, she really \u200ddid say\u200b \u201cgives <strong><em>me<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d A Freudian slip, perhaps?)<\/p>\n<p>After rattling off a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-mongolian-prime-ministers-reaction-kamala-harris-begins-speak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">word salad<\/a> that would make Vice President Kamala Harris blush, Grisham\u2062 made her most curious point of\u200d all: That the Constitution is, \u200dsomehow, not absolute.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there\u2019s an \u200demergency \u2014 and I\u2019ve\u200c declared an emergency for a temporary amount of time \u2014 I can invoke \u200cadditional \u2062powers,\u201d Grisham said, in her best attempt at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-mexico-governor-floats-arrest-of-conceal-carry-holders-after-power-hungry-emergency-order\/\" title=\"New Mexico Governor suggests arresting conceal carry holders following power-hungry emergency order.\">comic \u2063book supervillain\u2062 monologue<\/a>. \u201cNo constitutional right, in my\u2062 view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well, then.<\/p>\n<h3>A\u2062 Call for Arresting\u2062 Law-Abiding Citizens<\/h3>\n<p>Look, a deep \u2062disdain for the U.S. \u200dConstitution is hardly a unique \u200dfeature of deep-blue Democrats. So \u200cmaybe all of her aforementioned yammering is what \u2063you\u2019d expect from\u200d \u201cleaders\u201d of\u2063 her ilk.<\/p>\n<p>But this writer would \u200cbe remiss not to bring up one last genuinely scary comment this woman made.<\/p>\n<p>A reporter at the news\u200d conference told the governor, \u201cIf someone\u2019s got a concealed permit, in Albuquerque, walking on a public street in, they\u2019re not going to get arrested.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She \u2064responded, without a hint of irony: \u201cI can make the point that they maybe they should be [arrested.]\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yes,\u200c this is a United States governor openly calling for \u2064the hypothetical arrest of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-sheriffs-tell-newsom-they-wont-enforce-covid-curfew\/\" title=\"California Sheriffs Tell Newsom They Won't Enforce COVID Curfew\">law-abiding citizen<\/a>, literally\u2064 walking on \u2063the street.<\/p>\n<p>That is utter insanity and pure evil \u2026 which is a fitting tagline for the modern Democratic Party \u2063and everything that it represents.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/new-mexico-governor-floats-arrest-conceal-carry-holders-power-hungry-emergency-order\/\">New Mexico Governor Floats\u2062 Arrest of Conceal Carry\u200d Holders \u2064After Power-Hungry Emergency Order<\/a> appeared first on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\">The Western Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns in America were the biggest violation of personal freedom in history.
