She has\u2062 said she wants \u200cto try all the defendants together.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has indicated that he is considering\u2063 asking for his trial\u200c to be moved to federal court, and several \u2062other defendants have already made \u200cthe request.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling by Jones against Meadows could signal \u2063that the others may \u2062struggle to meet the burden required\u2062 to\u2062 win removal when their lawyers make their arguments\u200b before the judge\u2063 later this month, though Jones made clear\u2062 that he will assess each of \u2063those cases \u2063individually.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200cpractical effects of moving\u2064 to federal court would be a jury pool that includes \u2064a broader area \u2064than just overwhelmingly\u2064 Democratic Fulton County and a trial that would not be photographed or televised, as cameras are not allowed\u200d inside federal courtrooms.<\/p>\n<p>But it \u2064would not\u2063 open the door for Trump, if he\u2019s \u2063reelected in 2024, or another president to issue pardons because any\u200d conviction \u200bwould still happen under state law.<\/p>\n<p>Meadows\u200b filed a\u2062 notice of appeal Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>In\u200c a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/court-order-to-reimplement-remain-in-mexico-could-prove-ineffective\/\" title=\"Court Order To Reimplement \u2018Remain in Mexico\u2019 Could Prove Ineffective\">court filing earlier<\/a> this\u200b week, he \u2063asked to separate his case from the other defendants\u200d in the case and to halt his proceedings in the state court until a final determination \u200dis reached \u200don\u2063 his attempt to move to federal court, \u2062\u201cincluding through appeal, if an \u200bappeal is taken.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson \u2062for Willis declined to comment.<\/p>\n<p>Meadows, Trump and\u2062 the others have pleaded not guilty\u200c to\u200c charges they participated in\u200d a sprawling scheme to illegally try to overturn Trump\u2019s 2020 presidential \u200celection\u2063 loss in Georgia, even though\u2063 the state\u2019s voters had selected Democrat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/joe-biden-will-replaced-2024-know-will-take-place-author\/\">Joe Biden<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meadows said his actions were taken as part of his role\u200d as chief of staff\u200d to the \u200dRepublican president. He and his lawyers also argued\u2062 that, since he was a federal official at the time, the charges against him should\u2063 be heard \u200bin federal\u200d court and, ultimately, dismissed for lack of merit.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors said the actions laid out in the indictment were \u2064meant to \u200ckeep Trump in \u2063office after he lost to Biden. They said the acts \u2063were explicitly political in nature and are illegal under the\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/top-biden-administration-official-accused-violating-hatch-act-official-complaint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hatch Act<\/a>,\u200b which\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-judge-delivers-49-page-blow-to-ex-trump-allys-case-in-georgia-election-trial\/\" title=\"Federal judge deals major blow to ex-Trump ally's Georgia election case in 49-page ruling.\">restricts\u200d partisan political activity<\/a> by federal employees.<\/p>\n<p>As such, they said, the case should stay in Fulton County Superior Court.<\/p>\n<p>Meadows served as Trump\u2019s fourth and final chief of\u200c staff after being tapped in March 2020 to replace Mick Mulvaney. Before being elevated to the\u2064 position\u200b of the president\u2019s top aide, \u2062Meadows was a\u200d congressman representing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/republicans-gain-incredible-power-north-carolina-democrat-switches-parties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Carolina<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>First elected in the post-Tea Party wave of \u200c2012, Meadows quickly established himself as\u200b a leader of\u200d a new generation of conservative Republicans on Capitol Hill. \u200dHe served as chairman of the right-wing Freedom Caucus, and his actions in the House helped spur Speaker John Boehner\u2019s sudden retirement.<\/p>\n<p>As\u2062 Trump ascended in 2016, Meadows switched from \u200chis \u200cearlier backing of \u2063Texas \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ted-cruz-cracks-open-cold-one-live-tv-tells-biden-admin-kiss\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sen.
