It will focus on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nickel-price-surge-threatens-automakers-electric-vehicle-plans\/\" title=\"Nickel Price Surge Threatens Automakers\u2019 Electric Vehicle Plans\">lithium-ion battery cells<\/a>,\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/elon-musk-speaks-at-berlin-tesla-factory-site\/\" title=\"Elon Musk speaks at Berlin Tesla factory site\">battery packs<\/a>, and\u2062 energy storage systems integration.<\/p>\n<p>Illinois \u200cGovernor J.B. The company \u200dwill be eligible for tax benefits \u2064totaling $213 million over 30 years and also get $125 million \u2062in capital funding from the U.S. state&#8217;s Reimagining Energy and Vehicles incentive package.<\/p>\n<p>Local authorities also\u2064 approved a\u200d property\u200b tax abatement for 30\u200d years for Gotion. Once completed, the facility is expected to produce 10 GWh\u200d of \u2062lithium-ion battery packs and 40 GWh of lithium-ion battery \u2062cells.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>\u201cAll\u2063 that we see here are of enormous value to us: an enabling \u2062business environment, a supportive state government for the new energy industry and\u200b their highly efficient work, as well as \u200cthe\u2064 prospects of the State of Illinois \u2062in the coming years,\u201d Li Zhen, chairman of Gotion High-tech, said in a\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.illinois.gov\/news\/press-release.26993.html?ref=upstract.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>&#8220;When \u200cwe come \u200dto Illinois, we\u2062 are not building a new factory but are planning to \u2064reuse an existing one and bring \u2062it back to life\u200c again as our way of cherishing and conserving resources,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<h2>Gotion\u200d Building Another Factory in Michigan<\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, Gotion Inc.\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/article\/chinese-company-behind-michigan-ev-battery-plant-registers-as-foreign-entity-5478328\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> last month that it was\u200d building a $2.36 billion EV battery\u200d factory in Michigan, near Big Rapids, Mecosta County.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Gotion \u200bInc. secured $1 billion in U.S.\u2063 taxpayer \u2064support for the Michigan factory, at an overall cost of $2.4 billion, according to reports. \u2063Concerns about the deal have been raised by Michigan residents, Republicans, and environmental groups. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/china\/michigan-ev-plants-chinese-backer-promotes-communist-propaganda-5485445\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>[EPT]<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>It then \u2064came \u2062to light that Gotion had quietly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/article\/chinese-company-behind-michigan-ev-battery-plant-registers-as-foreign-entity-5478328\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">registered as a foreign entity<\/a>, \u200baccording \u200cto its registration document submitted to the\u2064 U.S. Department of\u2064 Justice. \u200d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/article\/chinese-company-behind-michigan-ev-battery-plant-registers-as-foreign-entity-5478328\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[EPT]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The document states\u2063 that \u2062Gotion, which is based in Fremont, California, is \u201cwholly owned\u200b and controlled\u201d by Gotion \u200dHigh-tech Co. Ltd., a Chinese company based near Hefei,\u200d a city in eastern China.<\/p>\n<p>The document also asks the registrant to state if \u201cthis foreign principal,\u201d meaning the American company Gotion Inc., is either \u201csupervised,\u201d \u201cdirected,\u201d or \u201cfinanced\u201d by \u201ca foreign\u200c government, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/china-exploits-lobbying-loophole-to-dodge-disclosure\/\" title=\"China Exploits Lobbying Loophole to Dodge Disclosure\">foreign political party<\/a>, or\u200d other foreign principal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gotion\u2019s\u2062 answer\u2064 to this was &#8220;No.&#8221; This \u200dis despite the fact that the \u2062company is &#8220;completely controlled&#8221; by China-based Gotion \u2063High-Tech.<\/p>\n<p>The document also asks if the \u201cforeign principal,\u201d or Gotion Inc., will engage in \u201cpolitical activities.\u201d Gotion\u2019s answer to this was &#8220;Yes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Gotion&#8217;s North American Manufacturing Vice \u200bPresident\u200c Chuck \u2063Thelen has dismissed concerns and said that Gotion Inc. is \u201cnot Chinese-owned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The rumors that you\u2019ve heard\u2062 about us\u200d bringing communism \u2063to No<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chinese battery maker Gotion High-tech will construct a cutting-edge $2 billion EV lithium battery plant in Illinois, according to the state&#8217;s governor.
