His father, Kantilal, completed his \u200cPh.D. at the University of Southern \u200cCalifornia (USC) and went on to teach business and \u2064accounting at Compton Community\u200d College.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by his father&#8217;s career, \u200dDr.\u2062 Shukla followed in his\u2062 footsteps, earning his \u2064Ph.D. in business \u2063from the University of California\u2013Los \u2062Angeles and\u200c an MBA from USC. Early in his career, he had the opportunity to teach alongside his father at Compton Community College, \u2062a precious time they shared \u2062before his father&#8217;s passing.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;It\u200c was special at \u200dthat point because he actually saw me teaching in the classroom and said,\u200b &#8216;oh, you&#8217;re a good professor.&#8217; Normally parents tend to be proud of their children, but \u2063they don&#8217;t see their children at \u2063work or in the work setting. So\u2063 that meant a lot.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dr. Shukla\u2063 attributes his own passion for teaching to his father&#8217;s tenacity and their \u200cIndian \u200dculture, where following in the \u200bfootsteps of parents is \u2062common. This legacy \u2063continued with Dr. Shukla&#8217;s wife, who is also a \u2064professor at \u200cChapman University,\u2062 and whose father and grandfather were educators \u2064as well.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Dr.\u2062 Shukla had \u200cthe opportunity to co-teach a business course with his daughter, Monica Shukla-Belmontes, \u200cwho is an assistant \u200bdean at\u200c Brandman University&#8217;s business school. Over the course of eight weeks, they collaborated on a business project management course, with Dr. Shukla observing his daughter&#8217;s skills in the classroom.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;It was the first time I \u200dwas actually \u200dthere the entire session. And she&#8217;s really good at technology and engaging\u200b the students and using online activities. And she knows more about that than I\u2063 do in \u2063terms\u2063 of how to use some of the online features of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chapman-professor-reflects-on-family-legacy-with-3-generations-in-education\/\" title=\"Chapman Professor's Family Legacy: 3 Generations in Education\">learning platform system<\/a>.\u2063 It worked out well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Their\u2062 co-taught course received\u200d high praise from students, with a rating\u2064 of 4.3 out of 5 stars. Dr. Shukla looks forward\u200b to \u2063future opportunities\u2064 to co-teach \u200dwith his daughter,\u200c continuing their family legacy of \u2063education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>grandfather.
