He claimed that he\u2064 and seven other \u2064so-called whistleblowers had\u200b a <strong>\u201cgood faith belief\u201d<\/strong> that Paxton had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whistleblowers-admit-they-reported-ken-paxton-to-the-fbi-without-a-shred-of-evidence\/\" title=\"Whistleblowers confess reporting Ken Paxton to FBI with no evidence.\">committed criminal actions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This meeting with the FBI in the Fall of 2020 eventually led to the majority\u200c of the impeachment \u200barticles, alleging \u200bthat Paxton misused his office to benefit a specific individual\u200d who had, \u200bseveral years earlier, donated to\u2064 one of Paxton\u2019s campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>During the cross-examination\u200c by\u200d Mitch Little, an attorney for Paxton, Vassar made \u200dthe\u2064 shocking revelation that\u2062 he and the\u2063 other employees had gone to the FBI without a \u2064shred of evidence.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMr. Vassar,\u2062 please, I want to get this straight \u2014 you went to the FBI \u200bon \u2063September 30 with\u2062 your compatriots, and reported the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-york-ag-calls-for-investigation-into-cuomo-harassment-claims-with-subpoena-power\/\" title=\"New York AG Calls For Investigation Into Cuomo Harassment Claims With Subpoena Power\">elected attorney general<\/a> of this \u2064state for a crime without any evidence?\u201d Little asked. \u201cYes?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s right,\u201d Vassar\u2062 admitted. \u201cWe took no evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He attempted to clarify, saying, \u201cWe had no evidence that we could point \u2063to, but we\u200d had reasonable conclusions we \u200ccould draw.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Little then asked if, after going to \u2063the FBI without any evidence, they later collected evidence that would corroborate their claims to\u2062 the FBI.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t recall that we collected any evidence,\u201d Vassar added, again\u200d retorting that he and his allies had gone to report a \u200b\u201cgood faith belief\u201d of criminal activity.<\/p>\n<p>Little retorted, \u201cRespectfully sir, we are not here for your good faith belief.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Attorney\u2064 General Paxton, like many \u200dother notable\u2062 conservatives in\u2063 America, has been \u200dthe \u2063subject of potential weaponization of the federal government \u2014 an institution he\u200b has \u200csuccessfully sued \u200cmany times.<\/p>\n<p>Even right now, as the impeachment trial continues, former President Donald Trump \u2014 who is \u2063by far \u2062the favorite for the GOP nomination \u2014 is currently being targeted by the apparatus of the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>The weaponization of the FBI has had such an effect on the American public that 70 percent of people are\u2064 concerned \u201cabout \u200binterference by the FBI and intelligence agencies \u200cin a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-republicans-ditch-the-2013-pro-amnesty-autopsy-plan\/\" title=\"House Republicans Ditch the 2013 Pro-Amnesty 'Autopsy' Plan\">future presidential election<\/a>,\u201d according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/harvardharrispoll.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/HHP_May2023_KeyResults.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Harvard-Harris poll<\/a> earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Ryan Vassar had no mistrust of\u200d the FBI or the federal government at all.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cDo you\u2063 trust the Feds?\u200c Do you \u200dtrust the\u200c FBI?\u201d Little\u200b asked during\u2062 the cross-examination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, I have no reason not to, I trust law enforcement and our peace\u2063 officers,\u201d the so-called whistleblower \u2063admitted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can\u2019t think of one reason in the last three or four years not to \u2064trust the FBI?\u201d Little pressed.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer continued, \u201cKen Paxton told you he didn\u2019t want to help the \u2064Feds in any way,\u2064 didn\u2019t he?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes sir,\u201d Vassar said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It is important to \u200cnote that \u2064in the three years since the so-called whistleblowers went to the \u2063FBI with their \u201cgood \u2064faith belief\u201d of \u2064criminal action from Paxton, the Bureau has never taken a single public\u200b action on the item.<\/p>\n<p>Seemingly, \u201cgood faith\u201d was simply not good \u200benough.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h3>About the Author<\/h3>\n<p>Jonathan covers local politics for The Dallas \u2063Express and has a background in \u200dhistorical research.
