Mr. Schuhmacher told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That tells me that this is quasi-permanent, meaning those consumers are just \u2064lost forever,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>He added that he thought Bud Light&#8217;s sales &#8220;would have rebounded by \u200bnow,&#8221; \u200bbut the backlash to the brand&#8217;s partnership \u200dwith Mr. Mulvaney appears to have hit a major\u2064 nerve with consumers and done lasting \u2064damage.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s actually worse\u2062 than just \u2064lost \u200csales because now\u2062 it&#8217;s getting to the point where \u2064it&#8217;s \u2063becoming systemic within the industry, and they&#8217;re losing the confidence of the retailers and that&#8217;s when it starts getting bad,&#8221; Kemp slams calls for boycotts over voting law\">faced boycott calls<\/a> over its \u2062partnership with Mr. Mulvaney.<\/p>\n<p>News of Mr. Gates&#8217; purchase of nearly $100 million in shares of Bud Light&#8217;s parent company, Anheuser-Busch InBev, was \u2062met with a critical reaction from the company&#8217;s former executive.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Bill Gates \u2064is\u2063 definitely making a mistake,&#8221; former Anheuser-Busch executive Anson Frericks told Fox Business. &#8220;Earlier this year, he already made a $900 million mistake\u200c when he invested into one of Anheuser-Busch&#8217;s largest rivals, Heineken.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;He did that earlier this year.
