Republican Rep. Bob Young penned a letter to Ohio GOP \u2064House Speaker Jason\u2063 Stephens, \u2063announcing\u200c his resignation effective October 2nd. This move comes \u200dafter a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/greg-abbott-orders-texas-national-guard-to-begin-arresting-illegal-immigrants\/\" title=\"Greg Abbott Orders Texas National Guard To Begin Arresting Illegal Immigrants\">joint call<\/a> for his resignation from Governor Mike DeWine (R-OH),\u200b Stephens, and more than 30 Ohio House GOP members, alongside Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>In July, Young was indicted by a\u200b grand jury on charges of \u2064domestic violence and assault.\u2063 Allegedly, he struck his wife in the face \u200band threw her phone into a pool \u2063to prevent her from \u2063calling 911.\u2062 These details\u200c were reported by the Associated Press. Furthermore,\u200b when Young&#8217;s wife \u2062sought \u2062refuge at his brother&#8217;s home, Young\u2064 reportedly confronted his brother, causing injuries to both himself and his brother \u200cby\u200d shattering a door.<\/p>\n<p>Young faced another arrest in August for allegedly violating a\u2063 protective order by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ohio-state-representative-resigns-over-arrests-in-domestic-violence-cases\/\" title=\"Ohio state representative resigns due to domestic violence arrests.\">leaving multiple voicemails<\/a> \u200bfor his wife. He was subsequently \u200dreleased but \u2062is now required to wear an \u2064ankle\u200d monitor \u2064at all times, according to the \u200bAssociated Press.<\/p>\n<p>As \u200ba result of\u2064 these incidents, Stephens had already\u2062 removed Young from his position \u200cas chair of the Pensions Committee on August 31st. The committee is \u200cnow chaired by Rep. Adam Mathews, with Young no longer listed\u200d as a\u200b member.<\/p>\n<p>In his resignation letter, Young expressed\u2063 his intention to fight the charges against him.
