He concluded\u2062 that Meadows \u2064had not met\u2064 the burden of proof required for removal of the state&#8217;s criminal prosecution and\u200b therefore declined \u2064to\u2063 assume jurisdiction over the case.<\/p>\n<p>This ruling comes after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-could-still-get-saved-by-doj-even-without-immunity\/\" title=\"DOJ could still save Hunter Biden, even without immunity.\">judge requested additional briefing<\/a> from the defense and\u2063 state prosecutors regarding the possibility of hearing the \u200dcase in federal court if\u2063 Meadows&#8217;s\u2063 actions were protected by federal law.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>The judge&#8217;s decision also follows a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/trump-white-house-chief-meadows-says-his-actions-in-georgia-recount-shielded-by-federal-law-5481632\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hearing<\/a> held on Aug. \u206328, during \u2064which he heard testimony from witnesses,\u200b including Meadows and Georgia \u200dSecretary\u200b of State \u2064Brad Raffensperger, a Republican.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This case\u200c has garnered significant attention as\u200d it marks the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-white-house-chief-meadows-says-his-actions-in-georgia-recount-shielded-by-federal-law\/\" title=\"Meadows: Federal Law Protects My Actions in Georgia Recount\">time substantive arguments<\/a> have\u2062 been presented in\u200d court in \u200cany of the\u200b four criminal cases \u200cbrought against former President \u200dDonald\u2062 Trump and his co-defendants this\u200c year.<\/p>\n<p>Many view the motion for removal to federal court as a mini-trial for President\u2062 Trump and his co-defendants, speculating that Meadows&#8217;s\u200b treatment in federal \u2062court will set the tone \u200bfor \u200dthe other Trump-related prosecutions.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump, Meadows, and 17 co-defendants were indicted\u2063 by \u200ca\u2064 state grand jury in Fulton County\u2064 on Aug. 14 in relation to the former chief executive&#8217;s challenge to the \u2063election\u200d in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Several co-defendants have also filed\u2062 notices of removal in \u200cJudge \u2064Jones&#8217;s court, and President\u2063 Trump himself filed a notice on Sept. \u200c7 indicating \u200bhis potential intention to \u200cseek removal to\u2062 federal court.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Jones&#8217;s latest \u2064ruling may suggest that he is \u200cnot \u200dinclined to grant the other removal motions.<\/p>\n<p>In his\u2063 previous motion, Meadows argued that his involvement in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-lawmakers-seek-voting-reform\/\" title=\"GOP lawmakers seek voting reform\">disputed presidential election<\/a> in Georgia was connected to\u2062 his role as \u200ca White House official,\u2063 and therefore, his\u200b case should \u2063be tried \u2063in federal court.<\/p>\n<p>Meadows claimed \u2064immunity from state \u200cprosecution under the \u200bU.S. Constitution&#8217;s \u200dSupremacy Clause,\u2064 which prioritizes federal law over state law.
