Says Manhattan Grand Jury Trump Indictment \u201cVery Political\u201d\">alleged improper retention<\/a> of confidential information at Mar-a-Lago. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe Committee on\u2063 the Judiciary\u2063 is continuing its oversight of the Biden Justice Department\u2019s commitment to impartial justice and its \u2062handling of a special counsel investigation against President Biden\u2019s chief opponent in the upcoming presidential election,\u201d Jordan wrote. \u201cLast year, Jay Bratt\u2014one of your senior prosecutors and top aides\u2014allegedly improperly pressured Stanley Woodward, a lawyer \u200crepresenting\u200b a defendant indicted by you, by\u2062 implying\u2063 that \u200cthe Administration would look more favorably\u2063 on Mr. Woodward\u2019s candidacy for a judgeship if \u200bMr. Woodward\u2019s client \u200ccooperated with the Office of the Special Counsel.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The committee chair also added that the attempt to force Woodward in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jim-jordan-investigates-jack-smiths-office-over-abusive-tactics\/\" title=\"Jim Jordan probes allegations of abusive tactics in Jack Smith's office.\">unethical \u2062manner raises<\/a> serious concerns about the Office \u200dof the Special Counsel\u2019s \u201cabusive\u2064 tactics \u2062and the Department\u2019s \u2063commitment to its goal of upholding the \u200drule of law and ensuring fair justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Jordan, Bratt allegedly attempted to bully Nauta into cooperating, first by extorting his\u2062 attorney and then by alleging a conflict of interest that precludes his attorney \u2062from participating in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan asked that Smith turn over all communication data pertaining\u200c to any meetings with Woodward at the Justice \u2063Department as well as correspondence between Woodward and the Justice Department.<\/p>\n<p>The panel demanded\u2063 that the special\u200c counsel provide the requested material \u2062to the House Judiciary Committee \u2064by September 21<sup>st<\/sup> at 5:00 P.M.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200bletter comes on the same day that\u2064 Fulton County District Attorney Fani\u2062 Willis accused\u200d Jordan of interfering with a state\u2064 criminal case and\u200d attempting to punish her for political gain by opening an investigation into her just days after Trump and the other defendants were indicted.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed! \u2064Receive breaking news blasts directly to your inbox for free.
