Similarly, a 2023 report from Patient Rights Advocate found that 75% of \u20642,000 hospitals surveyed \u2064did not\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-set-to-move-on-bipartisan-hospital-price-transparency-bill-in-first-week-back\/\" title=\"House to act on bipartisan hospital price transparency bill upon return\">meet existing\u200b federal standards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The Lower Costs, More Transparency Act will \u200cbring honesty\u200b and clarity to the cost of health care by requiring health insurers, \u2062hospitals, and PBM \u2063middlemen\u200c to be transparent about the prices they charge patients,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>said Ways \u200band Means Committee Chairman\u2064 Jason Smith (R-MO).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It \u200dwill increase\u200b access to care for patients by combating consolidation in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/vaticans-health-conference-features-pro-abortion-chelsea-clinton\/\" title=\"Vatican\u2019s Health Conference Features Pro-Abortion Chelsea Clinton\">health care delivery<\/a> that drives up costs by \u2063shining a light\u200b on the increasingly\u2062 common\u2063 practice\u200b of vertical \u2064integration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The 231-page legislation also addresses the cost of prescription\u200c drugs by requiring pharmacy\u200b benefit managers to semiannually provide employers with data on prescription\u200d drug pricing, including hidden fees.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Hidden fees, dishonest \u200dbilling, and other harmful practices in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-republican-assemblyman-calls-for-corruption-investigation-into-newsom\/\" title=\"California Republican Assemblyman Calls for Corruption Investigation Into Newsom\">health care industry<\/a> have left patients in the dark about the cost of care,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>said Education and Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/portland-mayor-ted-wheeler-is-finally-figuring-out-he-cant-appease-antifa-rioters-video\/\" title=\"Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler Is Finally Figuring Out He Can\u2019t Appease Antifa Rioters (VIDEO)\">good faith effort<\/a> \u2062will\u2062 allow patients to cut \u200cthrough the confusion in the health care marketplace and make \u200dinformed decisions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The bill\u200b also aims to cut Medicaid spending\u200b by eliminating $7 billion from\u2064 the Medicaid Improvement Fund and reducing waste in the\u2064 pharmaceutical spending for the Medicaid program.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the bill also extends\u200d appropriations for\u200d several community health programs, including the Community Health Center Fund, the National\u200c Health Service Corps, and\u2063 the Teaching Health \u200bCenter\u200b Graduate Medical Education Program.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;This \u200cbill represents what our committees \u200ddo at their best: work together to \u200ddeliver bipartisan results for the American people,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>said Energy and Commerce\u2062 Committee ranking\u2064 member Frank \u200bPallone (D-NJ).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Investigative reporter\u2063 Breccan Thies contributed to\u2064 this \u200dreport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>the right price.
