(NTD\/Screenshot via\u200c The Epoch Times)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt should\u2063 be noted\u200d that punching\u2062 or hitting a student would have only been a Class II \u200bviolation, so \u2064in the eyes of\u2063 these school\u2062 administrators, a finger gun is more serious\u2062 than punching a classmate in the nose,\u201d Mr. Belcher\u2019s statement reads.<\/p>\n<p>He said his son shouldn\u2019t be punished as no one was \u2062hurt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany noses have been broken by fists, but in\u200b the last 600 years since the invention of firearms, not a single person has been so much as bruised by \u2062a \u2018finger gun,\u2019\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Gun Owners of America (GOA) and \u2064Freeland Martz Attorneys of Oxford, Mississippi, have joined Mr. Belcher \u200cin demanding the Jefferson County School \u200dDistrict clear the boy\u2019s disciplinary record.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h2>Perpetuating &#8216;Anti-Gun Mindset&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThis incident just\u2064 goes to show\u200c how embedded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/alabama-6-year-old-suspended-for-using-finger-guns-during-cops-and-robbers-game\/\" title=\"Alabama 6-year-old suspended for playing cops and robbers with 'finger guns'.\">anti-gun mindset<\/a> is in so many communities, including in \u2062red states like Alabama. I imagine\u2063 most men &#8230; can recall having \u200cplayed in a similar fashion in their own youth,\u201d Erich Pratt, GOA \u200dsenior vice president, wrote \u2064in a statement released Sept. \u200b8. \u201cWe\u2064 will\u2063 continue to demand action until \u200ca\u200c full \u200capology\u2062 is made and\u200d all disciplinary records tied to this incident are permanently destroyed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>An attorney representing Mr. Belcher sent a demand letter to the Jefferson County School District. In that letter, he calls \u200dthe \u2062disciplinary action an \u201casinine\u201d reaction to \u201cage-appropriate play for two young boys.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCandidly, I thought the story may be a hoax until I reviewed the\u2064 paperwork generated by the school,\u201d\u2063 attorney \u200bM. Reed Martz wrote\u200b in the \u200cdemand letter.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h2>Class III: Drugs, Guns,\u200b Explosives<\/h2>\n<p>The child, identified as J.B., was suspended and accused of committing a Class III infraction. This is the\u2062 district\u2019s most serious infraction. According to the Jefferson County School District\u2019s Student Parent \u2064Handbook, \u200dClass III infractions include possession of guns or\u2064 explosives, sexual battery, battery of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/minnesota-teacher-praises-transgender-activist-sex-worker-in-front-of-middle-schoolers\/\" title=\"Minnesota Teacher Praises Transgender Activist, Sex Worker In Front Of Middle Schoolers\">school district employee<\/a>, and robbery, among others.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The boy would only be allowed ba<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a clich\u00e9 that rule-breaking students face punishment on their &#8220;permanent record.&#8221; However, a 6-year-old in Alabama is facing this threat, labeled potentially violent.
