DeSantis,\u2062 but the Battle Continues<\/h2>\n<p>The ultra-woke\u200b Disney has just dropped a huge chunk of its federal\u2062 lawsuit against Gov. Ron DeSantis and the state of\u200d Florida,\u2062 but DeSantis is not out of the woods just yet.<\/p>\n<p>Disney\u200b amended its\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disney-drops-massive-counter-punch-desantis-will-florida-gov-drop-feud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> on Thursday to drop all charges except the \u2063claim that Florida\u200b violated the company\u2019s free speech rights, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/09\/07\/disney-drops-all-but-free-speech-claim-in-political-retaliation-suit-against-desantis.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2062 appears that Disney dropped all its allegations \u200cbut the\u200c one because it\u2063 is pursuing similar court\u200c cases on \u200cthe\u2064 same\u200d issues at the state level.<\/p>\n<p>The amended\u2063 filing takes what was an 84-page lawsuit down to\u2062 only 48 pages.<\/p>\n<p>The <a title=\"GOP Asks Georgia\u2019s Highest Court To Limit Early Voting In Senate Runoff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-asks-georgias-highest-court-to-limit-early-voting-in-senate-runoff\/\">legal battle began<\/a> last year when Disney decided to \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WaltDisneyCo\/status\/1508494672817123330?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fight \u200bagainst<\/a> \u2064 a\u2062 Florida measure protecting children under 10\u2064 from\u200d the radical LGBT agenda in the state\u2019s schools, a measure\u2063 that <a title=\"Disney withdraws most charges in lengthy lawsuit against DeSantis, but governor still faces challenges.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/disney-drops-majority-of-charges-in-84-page-lawsuit-against-desantis-gov-isnt-out-of-the-woods-yet\/\">left-wing activists falsely labeled<\/a>\u2064 the \u201cdon\u2019t \u200bsay\u200c gay\u201d bill.<\/p>\n<p>For \u2063the record,\u2064 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2022\/1557\/BillText\/er\/PDF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bill<\/a> doesn\u2019t say \u200b\u201cgay\u201d anywhere in it.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis quickly \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ron-desantis-issues-scathing-rebuttal-disney-warns-company-crossed-line\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">responded<\/a>, warning\u2063 that Disney had \u201ccrossed the \u2064line\u201d and was \u201cthreatening our kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Parental Rights in Education law <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/desantis-signs-parental-rights-education-bill-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">went\u2064 into\u2063 effect<\/a> in March 2022\u2063 despite \u200cDisney\u2019s loud proclamations that\u200d kindergarten students should \u2062be \u2064exposed to \u2063<a title=\"\u2018It\u2019s Horrific\u2019: Psaki Says Not Teaching 5-Year-Olds About Gender Identity Is \u2018A Form Of Bullying\u2019\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/its-horrific-psaki-says-not-teaching-5-year-olds-about-gender-identity-is-a-form-of-bullying\/\">inappropriate sexual content<\/a> at\u200b school.<\/p>\n<h3>Will \u200bDisney win its federal lawsuit \u200dagainst DeSantis?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes<\/li>\n<li>No<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>DeSantis and Florida\u2062 Republicans eventually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/florida-legislature-votes-strip-disney-self-governing-powers-democrats-shriek-protest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">took an \u2063axe<\/a> \u2063 to \u2064Disney\u2019s special tax \u2064carve-outs \u2063and its decades-old private deal with the state to govern\u200b its own land holdings, creating a new \u2062board to\u2064 oversee Disney\u2019s \u200bproperties.<\/p>\n<p>Disney\u2064 tried \u200dto\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disneys-dirty-trick-renders-desantis-board-powerless-new-agreement-absurd-expiration-date\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">move quickly<\/a>, though, and loaded up a special deal with the previous board\u200c before they were replaced in order to circumvent the new board. \u2064But DeSantis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disney-throwing-white-flag-ceo-extends-offer-desantis-gov-threatens-taxes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">voided<\/a> that sneaky contract.<\/p>\n<p>The latter move\u2062 spurred Disney to launch a raft of lawsuits, both \u200din state \u2062and federal \u2064courts, to \u2063thwart DeSantis\u2019\u200d new \u2064control over\u2062 the \u200carea where Disney World sits.<\/p>\n<p>The company started with\u200b its federal lawsuit \u2064in \u2063April but has since <a title=\"Ramaswamy opposes removing Trump from ballot based on 14th Amendment.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ramaswamy-condemns-push-to-remove-trump-from-ballot-on-14th-amendment-grounds\/\">filed similar \u200dlawsuits<\/a> in state court alleging that Florida committed a breach\u200d of contract by canceling the deals Disney\u2064 hastily\u200d pushed\u200c through ahead of \u2063the board changeover.<\/p>\n<p>The new board said it agreed\u2064 with Disney\u2019s decision to \u200celiminate most of the federal\u200b allegations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDisney\u2019s latest legal move puts\u2064 them \u200bin line \u2064with the position of \u200dwhat the \u2064district has been\u2064 advocating for \u200dmonths\u2064 now: that these matters should be decided in state court.
