(Carol Cassis\/The Epoch Times)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>As the train embarked on its inaugural journey with excited passengers on board, young children and their parents joyfully sang &#8220;I&#8217;ve Been Working On \u200dThe Railroad,&#8221; eagerly awaiting\u2062 their turn to \u200cexperience the ride.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Ford, the decision to replace the old \u2064diesel-powered train with the new electric train was driven by the \u2063wear and tear the older model had endured over the years,\u200b leaving it &#8220;tired&#8221; and &#8220;worn down.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The new train, adorned with vibrant yellow and orange fall leaf garlands on its shiny green cars, is now open to \u200bthe public for a fee of \u2063$7 per ride.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ford and co-founder Steve Horn shared the story of their humble beginnings, \u2063revealing that they went into\u200b debt to bring their vision of the railroad to life. Credit cards, you name it,&#8221; Mr. Ford revealed to The Epoch \u2062Times.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Horn added that his father\u2062 had \u2062built the original diesel train\u2062 from scratch, a remarkable feat that has attracted \u200cthousands of visitors to\u200b the station in Irvine Regional Park\u200c each year.<\/p>\n<p>The families continue to operate the \u200btrain station and its surrounding amenities, including the\u2064 snack bar, \u2064paddle boats, and bike rentals, through their private foundation.
