Lindsey Graham and \u2063Former GOP Senators<\/h2>\n<p>A grand jury in Fulton County, \u200cGeorgia, has recommended criminal charges against Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) as \u2063well as former GOP Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, according to a report released\u2064 on Friday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<blockquote><p>Portions\u2063 of the report were released earlier this year (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23944944-georgia-special-grand-jury-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pdf<\/a>), but a judge had delayed \u2062its release until last month&#8217;s indictment of former President Donald Trump and 18 others. The panel also recommended charges\u2062 against retired Lt. Gen Michael Flynn, a former Trump national\u200b security advisor, and Boris Epshteyn, also a top adviser to the 45th president.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>The <a title=\"Giuliani a Target of Criminal Investigation in Georgia Election Probe: Lawyer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/giuliani-a-target-of-criminal-investigation-in-georgia-election-probe-lawyer\/\">special grand jury panel<\/a> said it\u200b heard from some 75 witnesses before completing a report in December\u200b with recommendations for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on charges related to efforts after the 2020 presidential election. (Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>However, Ms. Willis&#8217; office ultimately indicted the 19 aforementioned people, which also included attorney Sidney\u2064 Powell, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, \u200bformer New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis, and more on charges that \u2064included violating Georgia&#8217;s anti-racketeering law. They have all pleaded not \u200bguilty.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Graham, Ms. Loeffler, Mr. Perdue, and others were not among those who were charged last month, and it&#8217;s not clear if they will be in the future. Both Ms. Loeffler and Mr. Perdue\u2064 lost their \u2064elections in early\u200d 2021, \u2062with current Sens. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) and Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) prevailing.<\/p>\n<p>Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney ordered the partial release of the report recommending charges in\u200d February \u2064but declined to immediately release the panel\u2019s recommendations on who should or should not be prosecuted. The \u200cjudge said at the time that he wanted to protect people\u2019s due process rights.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Judge McBurney said in a new order filed \u2063Aug. 28 that the due process concerns were moot \u2063since \u2062a regular grand jury has indicted President Trump and 18 other \u2062people under the state&#8217;s anti-racketeering law.<\/p>\n<p>The parts of the report previously released in February included its introduction and conclusion, as well as a section in which the grand jurors expressed concerns that one or more witnesses may \u200dhave lied under oath and urged prosecutors to seek charges for perjury. The panel\u2019s\u2064 foreperson had said in news interviews that the special grand jurors had recommended that numerous \u2063people be indicted.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the report was \u200bfinally released to\u2062 the public on\u200d Friday, it&#8217;s not \u2063clear when\u2014or if\u2014the transcripts of witness testimony will be released.<\/p>\n<p>The members of the grand jury \u200bpanel, meanwhile, claimed that their\u2062 findings\u2063 to recommend charges came only \u2064from them and were not pressured by Ms. Willis&#8217; office. They \u2063said \u200cthat the district attorney \u201chad nothing to do\u200c with the recommendations contained herein,&#8221; and\u2064 the grand jury contained no legal experts or any criminal defense lawyers.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; max-width: 1200px;\">\n<figure class=\"alignnone\" style=\"width: 640px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"><figcaption>Retired \u200dArmy Gen. Flynn\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/betrayed-from-within-patrick-byrne-blasts-white-house-staff-after-attending-election-meeting-with-president-trump-sydney-powell-and-gen-flynn\/\">national security advisor<\/a>\u200d for\u2062 former President Donald Trump, attended a board\u200d meeting of Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, \u2064Fla., on Feb. 21, 2023 (Chris Nelson for The Epoch Times)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe majority of this grand jury used their collective\u200c best efforts, however, to attend every session, listen to every witness, and\u200c attempt to understand the facts as presented and the laws as explained,\u201d they wrote in the report\u2014possibly in an attempt to\u200c pre-empt any criticism of potential bias against former President Trump or the others.<\/p>\n<p>The grand\u200d jurors also stated that they believed\u200b the Georgia 2020 election wasn&#8217;t fraught\u2062 with &#8220;widespread fraud,&#8221; \u2063contradicting longtime claims made by the former president and others.<\/p>\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>As of Friday, Mr. Graham has not issued a public statement on the report that had recommended \u200ccharges. And\u2062 neither Ret. Gen. Flynn, Mrs. Loeffler, Mr. Epshteyn, nor Mr. Perdue have released statements, too, as of Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2064 charges appeared to have stemmed from a phone call\u2064 that\u2063 the longtime GOP senator\u200d made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a longtime\u2062 critic of President Trump, who claimed that Mr. Graham had asked him \u2062whether it was possible to <a title=\"Fulton County Grand Jury suggests charges for Sen.
