Back in \u200b1965, while studying at Syracuse Law \u2062School, Biden was caught plagiarizing five pages from \u2063a law \u200dreview \u2063journal. Then, in 1987, he dropped out of the presidential race after \u200bbeing exposed for plagiarizing a speech from Neil Kinnock, the former leader of Britain&#8217;s Labour\u200c Party,\u200d during a \u200dDemocratic primary debate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to Severino, the court opinion Biden plagiarized from was\u200d likely the dissenting \u2064opinion\u2063 authored by Judge Diana \u200dJane Gribbon Motz of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in <em>Brzonkala v. Virginia Polytechnic \u200bInstitute.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>A Shocking Discovery<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Severino, \u2064who\u2062 was a junior editor at the Harvard Journal on \u200bLegislation at the \u200btime, revealed his experience\u200d in a \u200cthread on X. \u200dHe wrote, &#8220;My\u200d first assignment was to cite check an article submitted\u200b by one Sen. Joseph R. Biden. I was \u2063shocked by the plagiarism I discovered.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Severino continued, \u200c&#8221;As I was interested in the article&#8217;s topic on civil rights, I read through the cited \u200ccases thoroughly. That&#8217;s when I noticed a certain turn of \u200bphrase in an opinion that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/harvard-attorney-who-reviewed-biden-article-was-shocked-by-the-plagiarism-he-discovered\/\" title=\"Harvard attorney astounded by plagiarism in Biden article.\">sounded oddly familiar<\/a>, even though it was my first time reading it. So I went back to Biden&#8217;s article, and there\u2063 it was. He had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-plagiarized-again-in-2000-harvard-journal-covered-it-up-report\/\" title=\"Biden's 2000 Plagiarism Incident Concealed by Harvard Journal: Report\">lifted language straight<\/a> out of a SCOTUS opinion, \u200bmade a\u200b few changes, \u200dand claimed it as his own. There were no quotation \u2063marks, footnotes, or any attribution to the court as the \u2064source.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Upon further examination, Severino discovered that multiple other phrases in Biden&#8217;s article were also plagiarized from various opinions. He believed this warranted rejecting \u200dthe\u200d article outright for plagiarism and presented \u200dthe indisputable proof to the lead editor. However, instead of acknowledging\u200b Severino&#8217;s efforts to protect the integrity of the journal, the \u2062editors\u200c covered\u200c for Biden. Instead, he engaged in &#8216;mosaic plagiarism,&#8217; which involves taking a quote and replacing some words with synonyms to make the plagiarism harder\u200b to detect.
