They \u2062also highlighted the importance of developing vaccines that target residual COVID-19 infections\u200b and evolving variants.<\/p>\n<h2>Questionable Claims<\/h2>\n<p>The study&#8217;s authors acknowledged \u2064the negative results, suggesting that while the \u2064bivalent vaccine \u2062might offer protection\u2063 against severe outcomes, it may not significantly reduce the \u2063risk \u2062of\u200b overall infections. Fallon\/AFP via Getty Images)<br \/>\n  <\/figure>\n<h2>Other Studies<\/h2>\n<p>Several \u2064other studies have also questioned the \u2063effectiveness of bivalent shots. \u200bFrench researchers estimated that the vaccine \u200dadded just 8 percent\u2062 protection\u2063 against symptomatic infection, while South Korean researchers\u2064 estimated 12 percent added\u200c protection.
